Top UK Places to Visit According to Brummies

I have lived in Birmingham now for about 9 years. This actually sounds a bit mad as it has gone very quickly! I kind of class myself as part of the Brummies now.

I may love living in this area but I also like to get out and about to visit different places in the UK as well as going into Birmingham City. There are many serviced in apartments in Birmingham if we wanted to spend some touristy time in Brum and to get away from the kids for a night!

When I was a child, I always holidayed in the UK and I have lots of happy memories. Some of my favourite places to go were The Yorkshire Dales and Scarborough with my Dad and grandparents. We had a lovely time when the weather was good and the scenery was amazing. Ice-creams, paddling and the funfair.

York was always beautiful and I remember a lovely trip with my Mum and brother. I must have loved it as I went off to University there.

One hundred and sixty eight Brummies have recently been questioned by SACO, The Serviced Apartment Company to find out where their happy place is in the UK.  The most popular choice was having lunch in a gastro pub in the Cotswolds.

For Brummies a UK holiday destination would have to be Cornwall or Devon, these were the most popular choices. I must agree, as my UK holidays as a child were often in Torquay.  Twenty percent of Brummies also love heading to the Peak District, somewhere that is also close to my heart from being a child. Hubby and I also went up to Buxton for a hotel break before the children came long. It was beautiful.

Food is big factor in the UK destination choices with cream teas, Cornish pasties and candy floss being the most popular foods lusted over.

One third of Brummies said they would holiday more in the UK if good weather could be guaranteed. This I completely agree with. We always tend to go abroad just for the good weather!

The infographic below details more of the survey results but what about you?

Would you holiday in the UK and where would you go?
