Beets Blue PagerTag **REVIEW**

So now and then I do let the hubby loose on the blog and he thought he would do a review for me this time for the Beets Blue PagerTag. In a slightly different style to me of course!

Here we go:

My wife asked me if I would like to review the Beets Blu PagertagBeets Blu Pagertag, found on Amazon and retailing at £20. Is is basically a wireless Key finder, and as I (a) love free stuff and (b) like electronic stuff, my response was pretty much a done deal.

The concept is basically a small flat keyring, an inch by an inch and a half, with Bluetooth capability: You electronically connect to it using your phone, via the Beets Blu app.

*When* you lose your keys, and presuming you had the foresight to attach the above key finder to your keys, press a magic button on the phone app and your keyring starts beeping. Simple eh! If feeling innovative, you could probably attach it to your child and the use-case is pretty much the same, aside from extra moaning from the wife due to it being a “silly test”.

The application itself, available on iPhone and Android, is easily found (I tested on Google Play), stable, and mostly intuitive. Load the app, connect to the pager, press the speaker icon, and find keys (or child).

You can also have multiple key finders for multiple sets of keys, and attach a photo to each alarm so you know which ones you are looking for in an intuitive way.

Pros

Easy to use, set up, and cheap.

Intuitive, stable and small application (12Mb on Android).

Won’t randomly go off in public like those “whistle” key finders.

Good battery life (still going strong after a few weeks).

Cons

The lanyard tassle thing is a major ballache to connect.

The application gives a big red notice when your key finder is disconnected, but you can swipe that away easily. Not a biggie at all really!

So, if you lose your keys regularly, then technology can help you… provided you don’t lose your phone at the same time 🙂
