It’s coming around quick! Two weeks and we will be off on our holidays to Rhodes, Greece with my Mum and step-Dad. This year is was soooo last minute. After moving house and finances etc we weren’t going to go. However, hubby started twitching for a holiday and it turned out my family were holding off booking in case we changed our mind.

So now I can’t wait. It is going to be hot but hopefully brill. I have done the old all inclusive holidays pregnant before (see below – Dominican Republic at around 20-21 weeks) and there are limitations; no booze (not that we go crazy with a gremlin anyway), no water sports and some trips are off limits. However, I will be ready for this one and will be using the parentals to the max – reading, gym and date night(s).

We have done three holidays abroad with the gremlin since she was born. The first was to Turkey when she was around 9-10 months and I had just finished breast feeding. This was obviously different to a holiday sans kids and I felt homesick for about 3-4 days. I just couldn’t relax and felt bad if someone else was watching the gremlin. However, this got much better and we had an awesome time. The gremlin slept in the evenings so we had some adult time.

The second trip was to the States and NYC for my 30th; visiting family. This was more tricky as the gremlin was older, so poorly (and so was I) and didn’t eat for about 10 days! Luckily we saw past this and had a brill time seeing my family. Plus we took her into NYC; crazy people!! I look so tired and ill on the shot below.

We finally went away last year to Fuerteventura; this was a brill hol (mainly due to the Sangria’s Mum and I had every afternoon!) but it was a completely different kettle of fish. An almost 2 year old gremlin was no way in hell going to sleep before 10pm so it wasn’t long before her body clock shifted and she would sleep in and stay up. Fun, fun and more fun, especially at the mini disco!! It was fab though to chill, read and have time together.

Mum reckons this holiday will be even more full on, as the gremlin never shuts up and wants company pretty much all the time (basically someone to follow her so she can boss them around). With Greece 2 hours ahead, her 8pm bedtime will quite nicely shift to mine at around 10pm (oh lovely) but on the plus side so will her the get up time!!

I can’t wait. Here’s hoping for some happy holidays!

Are you off anywhere this year?

Oh how exciting and what a lovely holiday to look forward to! Love seeing all your holiday snaps and other than being ill in NYC sounds like you’ve had some lovely trips abroad to look back on. I don’t mind the shifting bedtimes on holiday if they come with a similar shift in wake-up times either! Hope you all have a wonderful time 🙂

How lovely and brave going abroad with someone so young lol. We took our son to Florida when he was two and a half and vowed never to take a toddler away again. We are hoping to return next year when little lady is 3 and our son will be 7. In the meantime we stick to UK holidays. I hope you have an amazing time, I’m sure you will #WotW x

Hi Sarah, what lovely holiday memories all of them. I’m sure you will have an absolutely fabulous time and have plenty more photos to add to the collection. The two hour time difference certainly works in your favour for a morning lie in with Gremlin.

Ah holidays are always great to get in some much needed rest and recharge the batteries. As a family we tend to eat late and so I can relate to the late nights with lie ins during the morning. #WotW
