The Mummy Tag

The Mummy Tag

I’ve seen this post go around for a while and have been tagged by the lovely Angela at Days in Bed. I love these posts as they are basically nosey posts and I love them!

So here are the questions and my answers:

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?

Ha! I’m both. I work as a Dietitian 3 days a week and stay at home with the gremlin the other 2.

2. Would you have it any other way?

Nope! I love spending time with my girl and we always have a lovely time on our days together. But I think I would struggle 5 days a week! It’s keeping busy and keeping sane. I need my job and adult company.

3. Do you co-sleep?

We never did with the gremlin. I was too worried. However, we were lucky. She only woke once a night really after a certain point. Occasionally now she will get in bed with us in the night if she has a bad dream or poorly. I usually end up in the spare room, as hubby sleeps way better with her!!!!

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

It was a special mattress my friend bought me. I can’t even remember the name but we put it in her Moses and it kept her snuggled. She slept really well so it was an essential!!!

5. How many kids do you plan on having?

I think we will stop at 2, as I have a feeling we may go crackers. However, sometimes there is this funny feeling there may be a third. Then I slap myself.

6. Date nights? How often do you have them?

We try and have every 1-2 months. My Mum tends to have the gremlin overnight and we can get a break. We usually go away or end up on the sofa with a takeaway.

7. Your child’s favourite show?

Hmm, she is still really into Peppa but also likes Masha and the Bear, Fireman Sam and Kate and Mim-Mim at the moment. Hard to say one fave. The film Frozen is obviously a massive favourite!!!

8. Name one thing you brought before you had the baby and never ended up using?

Loads of socks and bonnets/hats. We had tonnes and she never seemed to wear any.

9. Your child’s favourite food?

I just sat and asked her and she said “lasagne” and “egg”. I expected chocolate to be honest!!

10. How many cars does your family have?

Two. We both need to commute with work and do the nursery runs.

11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?

With the gremlin I gained about 10-12kg but I started 3kg heavier than before I got pregnant with Piglet. I was my lightest in a long time after the gremlin. Breastfeeding, rushing about and going back to the gym made the weight fall off me. I have gained more with Piglet but mainly because I started lighter!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

My dream holiday would be to Florida with lots of my family. The gremlin asks to go to “Mickey Land” and we have told her at least another 3 years to wait. I went before I got engaged and it was brilliant.

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

I would love to go to Thailand. It was the place I wanted to go before kids but it never happened. It will one day.

14. How has your life changed since having kids?

I’m still me; I exercise and have my free time but time is just so precious. I find it harder to motivate myself to go out in the evenings as just so used to the bedtime routine etc. I do feel I have lost track of the cinema and films, as you just can’t go anymore. Kids become the centre of your Universe and you do realise how selfish you are when you get woken up or have to put your money to better use or miss out on something due to your kids. I would say though it’s amazing and my gremlin is my best little friend.

15. Finish the sentence “It makes heart melt when…”

The gremlin snuggles up to me and kisses me in random places like my leg or shoulder. She gets so excited and it’s like there is so much love she may pop.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

Asda is fab but I love HnM and also Next for some really special stuff. All the baby grows came from Next; a bit more pricey but bigger and lasted ages!

17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?

Make-up is mainly eye-liner, mascara and a bit of blusher. I have slacked a bit. I like the Boots No 7 skincare range.

18. Huggies or Pampers?

Neither. Aldi all the way!

19. Have you always wanted kids?

I was broody since I was 21. Just very glad I waited until I was 28.

20. Best part of being a mum?

This little person who is so cute, kind and funny. She is such good company and so loving. This is the best!

I think we’ll stop at two too. The idea of 3 is lovely but I do like my sanity too and I probably only have a tiny bit left that I’m clinging to!

I’m with you on the holiday to Florida with kids. Luckily my in-laws live there so we have a good excuse to go – I ‘m just waiting until the Popple is a bit older so she’ll appreciate it a bit more. #fartglitter

I’m with you on the part time working. I think it’s perfect as I get to have the best of both worlds. I think I’d also go a bit crackers if I didn’t have that weekly fix of adult company and something to tax my brain a little. Kudos to all the Mamas that do stay at home full time, but this Mama needs a cup of hot tea two days a week! 😉 Thanks for linking up to #fartglitter hon xx

Awww such a lovely post. Lots of things I can relate to, like I dont remember the last time we went to the cinema! But then being woken up with little kisses is the best thing in the world. Glad we waited till we were the same age to have children too! Thanks for sharing this on #MarvMondays. Emily
