Christmas Tree

This week’s word has to be two – Christmas tree.

I don’t usually swear on my blog much. It doesn’t look good (even though the odd few words do exit my mouth now and then).

However I can make exceptions.

The Christmas tree. Holy f*****g s**t.

I though having a one year old, even a two year old would be tough when putting up the tree; eating tinsel and trashing baubles. Tonnes of nagging and this Mama losing her s**t! Actually the gremlin was easy and she didn’t mess with the tree much over the last couple of years. It was a doddle!

A 3 year old?! A whole new kettle of fish and this is where the fun started. Cue excitement, cue taking everything out of the bags and boxes and throwing it all over the floor. Cue some mega not listening! Cue serious verbal diarrhoea. Where the hell were my ear plugs when I needed them?

Putting the tree and decs up this year by far was the most stressful since I gave birth.I had no lip left from biting it, avoiding some serious shouting at my eldest. Didn’t help that the newborn was knackered and intermittently yelling at me.

I had a Christmas tree with about 10 baubles hung in one spot. She opened a Christmas chocolate. She tied string around the stair banister for decoration and wanted a reaction similar to me viewing the Grand Canyon for the first time (this was kind of cute). My lounge looked like an actual bomb went off and I’m sure Piglet was actually buried under tinsel at one point. There were also full on tears when hubby dared to put the star on the top of the tree himself. He had to put the gremlin on his shoulder for her to reach to do it (and for her to stop crying).

I finally had to send hubby and the girls out for a walk so I could clean up all the mess and get my downstairs in some form of order. I thought this year would be the funnest and don’t get me wrong, it was lovely seeing the gremlin so excited but WOW!

I have been reliably informed the gremlin is just going to get more crazy with excitement! Please help me!!
