Baby Nails **REVIEW**

Hands up. Who has cut their baby’s finger when trying to cut their nails?

I did with Piglet when she was a DAY OLD. You always misjudge how long their nails are, they move at the wrong moment…sound familiar?

Baby Nails may be the solution us parents are looking for. You don’t need scissors to cut your baby’s nails. As you feed or cuddle them, you can gently file them down, avoiding any nasty nips.

How do they work?

You slip on a “Thumble”, with a nail file attached, onto your thumb. As you hold your baby, you can gently file the nails down. The nail files can be replaced and simply stick on the “Thumble” with adhesive. There is an opening at the front so you can wear the “Thumble”, even with a long thumbnail.

There are a range of three different grit nail files to be used with the ‘Thumble’; newborn babies, 3 months onwards and 6 months onwards. For new babies the finest grit is used, and then a medium grit for 3 months and a coarser grit for 6 months. These are recommended.

So what did we think?

They were really good! I had to wait until my evening feed with Piglet, as she falls asleep on me afterwards. She wouldn’t let me have her hand at first, as she loves to play with her ear but when she settled, I filed down her nails really well. It was much easier than clenching her poor little hand, as I try and cut her nails with scissors. She seemed to be not bothered by it at all, even seemed to find it relaxing.

I can imagine it is even easier with a newborn. Piglet is past 8 months now and more wriggly.

It was actually quite therapeutic for me and I sat and enjoyed her feeding and wasn’t glued to my phone.

We were really impressed with Baby Nails. It was easy, relaxing and best of all no injuries!!

Would fully recommend for looking after your baby’s nails, especially for a newborn.
