BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat – **REVIEW**

The BubbleBum Inflatable Booster seat is a game changer for parents travelling in cars with kids.

One of the things that always confuses me as a parent is car seats. The regulations and certainly what to do when I am going on holiday with the kids and likely to be using taxis or alternative transport. A few times I have had my eldest buckled into a normal seat and my baby on my knee abroad! Never very good really. This is where the BubbleBum Booster Seat is perfect.

What is the BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat?

Well it kind of is what it sounds like actually!  The BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat is a portable, inflatable booster seat designed for children aged between 4 – 11 years, with a weight between 15-36kg. It is perfect for holidays, rental cars, taxis, school trips and a perfect product for grandparents or childminders in the event of unexpected or occasional journeys.

I bet you are thinking wait a minute….is this safe? The answer is yes. It is ECE Regulation R44/04 approved (if you are keen to look this up) but only suitable with a 3 point seat belt with is also ECE Regulation 16 or equivalent standard.

The BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat  is a portable, lightweight (0.5kg when deflated), brightly coloured, inflatable car booster seat for children. It folds flat so that kids or mums can carry it in a rucksack or handbag. Really easy!

On the diagram below taken from the BubbleBum website, it shows you how they work:

These retail on the online shop as £29.99 for one and £59.98 for a twin pack. There are a variety of designs to choose from.

Using the BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat

We took our BubbleBum on holiday but it turned out that the one time we got a cab, they actually had a car seat!!! I couldn’t believe it.

So we ended up testing driving it at home and will use in future.

It was quite easy to set the seat up. You remove it from the packing as below.

There is an air valve at the back of the seat which you blow into to reach it’s full size.

You then have to position the child in the car and there are red clips on either side of the booster seat, that you have to slide the vehicle seat belt into. You can see I have done this below, before attaching the final clip.

You then attach the crossover part of the seat belt to a a red clip at the back to keep it all secure and you can do the seatbelt properly.

What Did We Think of the BubbleBum Inflatable Booster Seat?

I thought the BubbleBum Inflatable Booster seat was perfect for those impromptu trips and amazing for holidays. I found it really easy to set up and get sorted in the car. I usually take ages to read instructions and fit things together but I had no problems at all.

It was also really easy to deflate and pack back into the box and store away. It is also really light so perfect for packing in your suitcase.

My eldest seemed comfortable on the seat and looked it. I was keen to ensure it met regulations and was safe, so was pleased to read it did, as I must admit, I wondered at first.

I know I will be taking this when we head to Spain in the next few weeks, as know we will not have enough car seats and I want that reassurance.

Big thumbs up!
