French Toast - Eggy Bread

French toast, eggy bread recipe which is perfect for weaning

Equipment

  • Cast Iron Frying Pan or frying pan
  • Wide Pasta Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 1 Slice of Wholegrain Bread
  • 30 mls Milk
  • Dash Cinnamon Optional
  • 1 drop Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar Optional for Babies

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients into the bowl apart from the bread.
  • Wisk with a fork.
  • If using a cast iron pan put on a low heat.
  • Lay the bread in the mix and gently press down.
  • After the bread has soaked in some of the mixture, turn over and repeat being careful not to rip the bread.
  • Once all the egg mix has soaked up, grease the pan and carefully transfer the egg soaked bread into the pan.
  • Fry for 1 minute on one side, taking care not to burn.
  • Turn bread over and repeat. Best to do on a low heat, to ensure cooked through.
