This week’s word has to be Jobs.
Jobs! Jobs and more flipping jobs.
I’m not just talking about housework. Shopping, blogging, remembering appointments, birthday presents, starting the Christmas shopping….
Juggling this and now having 2 little ones is definitely more tricky.
I don’t have an immaculate house. It is impossible. When I was a kid I always remember my childminder had one of those signs in her kitchen. It read “Cleaning the house when the kids are growing is like shovelling snow when it’s still snowing”. SO TRUE!!
We do have a reasonably good size house which I am not complaining about at all. I LOVE my new house but it’s a mission keeping it clean and tidy.
We used to have a cleaner until a few months ago and I do miss her. We are hoping she comes back in the New Year. She came fortnightly but completely blitzed the house. I can never get over how fast a week goes. I clean 3 toilets and feel all smug. Then a week passes and they need doing again. Why??
I am obviously home full time now, with the gremlin 3 days a week and we generate so much filth! Dust, crumbs and outdoor muck. I feel I am constantly hoovering up our entrance hall/diner.
Do I need to even mention washing? Sick and pjs covered in leaked breast milk mean the machine is on pretty much daily.
I often feel like I am on a hamster wheel and the to do list is never ending. I’ve started thinking that everything I do is an achievement. With a bit of a limpet baby who needs a bit of help napping, if I manage the hoovering that is one job done. I’m also painfully aware little Piglet is likely to be our last bubba and making the most of her snuggles and smiles is so important.
There is so much more to life than housework and jobs but sadly if I don’t want to live in a shit tip; I have to cave and do the cleaning. Also, I am already having the “jokes” from my hubby about catching me on the sofa all Thursday and Friday, snuggling and watching Grey’s Anatomy (I jest, he really is teasing).
How about you? How do you juggle kids and chores?
