Little Tikes Fun Zone Tumblin’ Tower – REVIEW

AD – The Little Tikes Tumblin’ Tower looks such fun for the warm, summer months.

I knew this year, with two little girls we would need some more toys for the garden when the weather started to get warmer. I was one of those people last year who hit the shops trying to find a paddling pool and they had sold out! When I was contacted by Little Tikes and offered to review their new Fun Zone Tumblin’ Tower, I was extremely excited for the girls.

More About The Fun Zone Tumblin’ Tower

This product can be used indoors (if you have space) and outdoors, aiming to keep your kids active and happy. It’s aimed at children aged 24 months to 5 years plus and currently RRPs at £279.99.

This fab tower also brings in some fun with water on those hot summer days.

The key features, as specified online are:

Setting up The Little Tikes Tumblin’ Tower

This review was done in March so bear in mind we could not test out the water function on the girls for fear of my children freezing to death!! However, I can show you in the review and pictures how it will work.

I have to say this was quite a mammoth task for my husband. He started and did about half, then finished it off on another day.

There are a number of stages to the assembly and hubby said he had some fun trying to get all the screws in!

He did say it was a long process to assemble the Tumblin’ Tower and you need two people to hold parts together whilst you the screws are fixed in.

He has some issues with the slide handles and recommended you set it up when it’s warm, as he struggled initially on a colder day. There were also some issues with what screw lengths we were issued, compared to the manual but it didn’t affect assembly.

Overall, over 2 days it took at least 3 hours, so be prepared if it will be a gift.

The Water Features of the Little Tikes Tumblin’ Tower

As we received this in March and it happens to be the coldest EVER, there was no full on use of the water features but it was nice to imagine the fun we would have in the summer.

There is a point to attach a hose pipe on the warm days and an adaptor. This allows water to flow through to all the exciting aspects of this outdoor toy. Bear in mind the adaptor did not fit our hose, which was  standard hose and my husband said we would need to buy one before the summer. Therefore, we could not test out all the water features, which was a good thing in the weather we were having!

There is a cool water cannon, which I cannot wait to try out on my Mum, as she hates getting wet!

The purple handle turns the hose pipe off and on to control the water flow. See below.

There is a bucket on top which fills with water and then crashes down on whoever is below. My eldest was very excited by this as reminded her of some of the fun water parks abroad.

This bucket can be filled two ways; via the spray which comes from the hose pipe. You may want to turn the hose off and use the manual way however.

There is another handle on the bottom side which controls a belt with orange containers. They fill with water from the pre-filled red tray to also tip water into the blue bucket.  This is fun, as the kids can control it.

If you have set this up indoors, balls replace the water.

My eldest enjoyed testing this out.

Overall Thoughts

I think this Tumblin’ Tower will be awesome in the summer months. It’s like a garden version of what you have abroad! I like the way the children can have control of the water and control how wet they get (and others will the canon). It is a brilliant concept.

I like the idea of being able to use it indoors if you have the space too, as would be great.

My eldest is a tall 4 year old and she was enjoying playing on it, as I thought she would be a little big but not at all. My 18 month old loved the slide but did need some supervision.

My husband found it quite portable and easy to move around the garden.

Only negatives were the set up. It took a long time, needing two people. The issues my other half had with the screws did not affect the assembly and we were unsure if just our set, so worth checking.

My husband said, although the concept of the toy is amazing and once all set up, it will be brilliant BUT he did think there were some design flaws with parts not fitting, wrong size screws included and us needing an additional hose adaptor.  I of course, have to be honest in my reviews.

Price wise, it is quite a lot but at the same time you have a really unique garden toy. It will be amazing for the hot days (we will get some I’m sure) and promotes your children moving and keeping active.

Definitely worth checking out but make sure you are aware of some of the above.
