French Toast - Eggy Bread

French toast, eggy bread recipe which is perfect for weaning

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 1 Slice of Wholegrain Bread
  • 30 mls Milk
  • Dash Cinnamon Optional
  • 1 drop Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar Optional for Babies

Equipment

  • Cast Iron Frying Pan or frying pan
  • Wide Pasta Bowl

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients into the bowl apart from the bread.
  2. Wisk with a fork.
  3. If using a cast iron pan put on a low heat.
  4. Lay the bread in the mix and gently press down.
  5. After the bread has soaked in some of the mixture, turn over and repeat being careful not to rip the bread.
  6. Once all the egg mix has soaked up, grease the pan and carefully transfer the egg soaked bread into the pan.
  7. Fry for 1 minute on one side, taking care not to burn.
  8. Turn bread over and repeat. Best to do on a low heat, to ensure cooked through.
