Qwerkity Kid’s Gifts **REVIEW**

AD –  It’s July but I am already thinking about the start of the mad rush of panic and shopping. Oh yes. Christmas gifts and shopping! You may think I am crazy but I know people who have already started. When Qwerkity Gifts got in contact regarding reviewing some gifts, I thought this would be great for ideas.

For some people I seriously never have a clue where to start and already I’m struggling a bit with the gremlin. She has a lot of toys and I like presents to be a bit querky and original.

About Qwerkity

Qwerkity offer a wide range of unusual, practical and fun products, ranging from gifts, DIY, home, garden and travel items and clothes.

Their products are for all ages, so you will be able to find something for the special someone you are buying for. They also cater for varying budgets.

What Did We Choose?

Gift 1 – Memory Maze

The first item, I’ll be honest was a bit more for me (poor gremlin) but I think will be fabulous as she gets older. It’s a Memory Maze and is really addictive!

This small device comes with batteries (always a plus) and is perfect for testing your memory. It features 4 different coloured lights that flash in a 15-step sequence. It starts with one move and progresses to another and another every time you get it right until you have to recreate all 15 moves. It drove me mad (in a good way) trying to get the correct 15 light sequence.

Apart from it being quite noisy (the lights flash with a sound accompaniment) I thought this gift was great. It retails at £6.99 and would be a perfect stocking filler and also good for a journey (a little noisy but still fun). It’s recommended for kids aged 3 years and over.

Gift 2 – Remote-Controlled Battle Spiders

These remote-controlled battle spiders are really pretty cool and I have to say hubby picked these out for him and the gremlin to play with! They retail at £39.99 and are recommended for children over  8 years (so supervised play with our almost 4 year old gremlin!).

The spiders come with batteries  and pretty easy to unpack and start playing with. Each spider comes with their own two-channel infrared remote controls. You have to pair each spider up with the control at the start.

These cool spiders have a 1.5 metre firing range and a 360 degree rotating head. They also move forwards and backwards with the control.  The spiders are pretty cool as have realistic recoil and a physical response when hit or when shooting. You have to stun your enemy for 1 second with a direct hit and they light up. First to 10 hits wins and the spider is completely stunned and needs to be reset with the press of a button.

We loved these and I was surprised how good the gremlin was for her age too!

We had a good giggle playing with these and more fun hiding from Piglet, as she tried to steal them. I loved how the spider legs looked so realistic! My gremlin hid one in the toilet and I almost jumped a mile! I can imagine these would make a really fun gift for Christmas to play with family members.

My eldest was a little young to get the knack of the steering via head rotation but of course this toy is aimed at older children and I think wouldn’t be an issue.

These battle spiders are quite pricey but I think they are worth it for a gift and for how they perform as toys. Overall they entertained us and I can see us playing with them frequently and not just as a novelty.

Overall Thoughts

We loved the gifts we chose from Qwerkity. There is some real eclectic items on there and I would definitely recommend having a nosey if you are getting stuck for gift ideas.
