AD – The Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Laptop is perfect for kids (and adults?) who love Peppa Pig.
Both my girls have been and still are massive fans of Peppa Pig. My youngest is obsessed and loves a sneaky watch on the iPad. Even though some aspects of Peppa drive me potty, it is really educational for kids and the gremlin now still talks about scenarios on Peppa, when linking to something she has learnt. Piglet also has a Peppa Pig Cash Register she loves.
Of course for little ones they are learning all the time and learning has to be fun. So combining Peppa Pig and educational toys is really a winner in my eyes.
When we were offered the chance to review the Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Laptop, I knew my youngest would LOVE!
More about the Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Laptop
The Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn Laptop is chunky and perfect for learning, young hands. It is aimed at children aged 2 to 5 years old and RRPs at £19.99.
The Peppa Pig Laugh and Learn laptop features four game modes, helping your little ones learn about colours, numbers, letters and word recognition. The buttons are fun shaped and there is a backlit screen. It is quite easy for them to explore and navigate. It is fun and challenging.
It needs 3 x AA batteries which are included.
What Did we Think?
My youngest is just about to turn 2, so just about to hit the recommended age. She was fascinated with the laptop but as I thought, mainly just enjoyed listening to the music and pressing the different buttons, to see what would happen. It kept her busy for a while and she was carrying it around. She loved that it was Peppa and enjoyed the different sounds.
I had a look at the games separately. They seem great for kids who are starting to recognise colours, basic numbers and sounds. I think little Piglet will be able to use this as she gets older and it will be something I will be able to do with her. I think with a little practice she will be able to recognise the Peppa characters and instruments and she already says “1, 2, 3”, so we can work on this with her.
The first games gets your kids to press something on the keyboard and Peppa tell you what it is. For example. 2 apples.
The second game asks harder questions, like what is the first letter of aeroplane or how many apples can you find?
The third game asks you what makes certain sounds and you hear a noise or find something that is blue for colour recognition.
The final game is all about playing music and this was the easier for little Piglet as all about exploring sounds.
It took me a minute or two to recognise in some of the games the backlit image on the screen corresponds to the buttons on the keyboard, depending on their position. So for example if you think the answer is the apples, you would press the number 2, as in the same position on the keyboard as screen. They may need a little help getting used to that.
My eldest who is 5 could easily complete the games and was fab with the letter, number and instrument recognition.
Overall I think for the price it is a fun product for little ones and a useful tool in their road to school. Peppa fans will love all the music and the characters and the games are fun and lovely to do together.
I think for very younger kids, it is perfect to let them explore and press the buttons; it will keep them busy and stimulate them. As they get older, it will be lovely to watch her be able to do the games correctly. It only gets them to learn the first few letters of the alphabet and first numbers so when they have mastered this, they may need a little more to push them.
However it would make a lovely gift or Christmas present.
