Scruff-a-Luvs – Blossom Bunnies – **REVIEW**

AD – My gremlin has been asking for a pet rabbit for ages. I mean ages! She is convinced that when she turns 6, she will be having one. Either that or after her baby brother is born. I’m not so sure. She is so young and I know I will end up looking after a pet bunny; not so great when I have a tonne of other things to do. The novelty wears off so quickly with children and I’m not sure she is ready to take on the responsibility of a pet just yet. I do try and distract her quite a bit. Placate her with other ideas, like toy bunnies; like this cute Blossom Bunnies Scruff-a-Luvs by World’s Apart. Am I kidding myself?

Blossom Bunnies – Scruff-a-Luvs – what are they?

These cute little creatures I’m hoping will help my eldest forget about a pet rabbit for a little while! There is a mystery coloured bunny in each pack; Lemon Drizzle, Posie or Peppermint. These poor bunnies are thought to be abandoned and need rescuing for the Spring. My gremlin loves a sad little story and taking someone under her wing, so this was right up her street.

These toys RRP at £19.99 and are aimed at children aged 3 years and up. You can find them in Smyths Toys, The Entertainer, Argos and on Amazon.

After revealing which bunny you have, each needs washing, drying ands grooming, ready for some adventures and exploring!

As it was half-term when the gremlin and I unpacked her Scruff-a-Luv, we knew when it was rescued we could take it out on some adventures!

Our Experience

We were having a lovely girly day together, the gremlin and I and came home from town to rescue her Blossom Bunnies Scruff-a-Luv.

The box was easy to get into and we revealed a pink, Posie, little ball of fluff. This is what we revealed.

The gremlin knew more about the Scruff-a-Luv than me, as of course she has watched videos online but the included instructions were easy to follow and simple.

We had to wash the Scruff-a-Luv first which we did in the bathroom, in one of my girls’ baby baths. The grem wanted to add some bubbles but you don’t have to do this, as of course have to wash them all out.

She did most of the washing of the Scruff-a-Luv and I helped her to rinse it and wring it out. They are very wet when you finish and need a good squeeze.

After this was done, I gave her a good dry with  a towel and we went to start drying her with a hair dryer and brush her.

The Scruff-a-Luv does take a long time to dry. We started using the hair dryer but as it was taking a while did not complete fully in one go. As you dry it you can brush the fur. It may be easier to do it in different sessions or put in on the radiator overnight.

As you can see it is very Scruffy looking ands that is how the fur does tend to stay afterwards. It isn’t a teddy that looks particularly neat afterwards I will be honest but my eldest loved her and thoroughly enjoyed the process of washing, drying and rescuing her!!

All that was left was to take her newly rescued and washed Scruff-a-Luv on some half-term adventures!

So it just happened that a couple of days after we revealed her rabbit, the gremlin’s baby brother was born, so some of her adventures were put on hold. However we managed to get a snap of him and the bunny out shopping a few days in.

Our Thoughts on Blossom Bunnies Scruff-a-Luvs

I think like many toys on the market Blossom Bunnies Scruff-a-Luvs appeal to children so much due to the excitement of opening and revealing the toy inside! More of the joy comes from this, than what is actually inside I think sometimes.

The process of rescuing a surprise animal, washing and grooming it was a lovely task for us both and we enjoyed doing it together. It took some time and was fun over half-term.

My gremlin was perfectly happy with her dried Scruff-a-Luv but I have say it didn’t look like the pictures and was very scruffy!! It didn’t really fluff up. However, I am not playing with it or taking it to bed for snuggles!! It is definitely all about what the child thinks.

£20 is quite a lot for a teddy but I think with like many of these toys, you are paying for the experience of the toy and not just the finished product. However, weigh all this up before buying and have a look at the pictures of our finished little Scruff-a-Luv.

Overall it was a lovely activity and my gremlin loves her rabbit.
