AD – Little Piglet is a fussy little thing when it comes to her clothes and shoes; so much, as we have to take her upstairs and let her choose a lot. I don’t like to buy her anything without her being around, as it can be a bit of a waste of time. Yes, she’s a DIVA at 2 and half. So when I was offered a pair of Ikiki Shoes for her to review, I was keen on getting her in on the choosing process from the get go! She does love a good pair of new shoes, so I was fairly hopeful.
And I was right to be hopeful! She couldn’t wait to get choosing.

Personally I was really jealous of the shoes by Ikiki as soon as I saw them and my five year old was even more jealous and was asking if she could have some too.
Ikiki footwear is actually an American brand that has arrived in the UK and your toddlers will love the shoes.
What is so unique about these shoes is they squeak! The squeaking mechanism in the heel encourages healthy heel-toe walking and makes walking fun. Parents will also be glad to know that there is an off switch!
The shoes retail at £25.95 and there are lots of designs to choose from including unicorns, frogs, pigs and owls. Sizes range from 3 to 9.

I knew my middle girl would choose unicorns. She loves unicorns and I had to say, these were my favourites too. They arrived and I made her wait a little while to wear then (blogger has to take pictures right?) It’s a good thing I did wait too, as she wears them constantly!
At first she wasn’t sure about the squeak sound. This was her face:
However, she soon got over that and wanted to turn the squeak sound off and on by herself. Sometimes she would have one shoe squeak on and the other off. She loves the shoes and has been wearing them in the garden and to nursery. In fact everywhere. I’ve had to force her to wear sandals in the hotter weather. For my fussy, headstrong little girl to do that, I know she adores them.
Personally I am very impressed with these Ikiki shoes. The quality and design is very good. I feel my daughter’s foot is supported in the high top the rubber sole gives a good grip. The squeak sound is cute but yes, I do like how we can turn it off if necessary. Piglet has worn without socks a lot and there is no sign of rubbing or blisters.
They are comfortable for her and we have had so many compliments on the unicorn design.
Price-wise I think they are reasonable for a unique, original shoe with such fun designs and of such a good quality. It’s comparable to other shoes she has had in the past.
I would definitely recommend and would consider buying her another pair when she grows out of them!
