Rebel Girls Jigsaws by Gibsons – REVIEW | AD

rebel girls jigsaw

I have to admit I’d never heard of Rebel Girls before I was contacted to review two Rebel Girls jigsaws from Gibsons Puzzles. It sounded right up my street and as I have some time with my eldest daughter on a Tuesdays, I thought we could learn together and so some jigsaws!

To be honest I’ve not done a jigsaw in ages. I always think my baby boy will come and trash it (and I am usually right!) I see fellow bloggers doing them and always look on wistfully, so I thought some quality time with my eldest daughter would be lovely. My middle daughter is really starting to enjoy jigsaws too and I know as she gets a little older would love the Rebel Girls jigsaws from Gibsons.

I was really keen to learn a bit more.

I was really keen to get cracking!

Doing the Jigsaws

We decided to do the 100 piece puzzle as a threesome and my 3 year old did have a good go too! My husband had taken the little man out and we knew we would be safe for a little while!

It didn’t take us too long to do and I loved the bright and colourful design. As there was a good few strong females to piece together, my 3 year old could have a go. She loved doing Queen Elizabeth.

What was also fun was looking up about some of the ladies and learning about why they were famous in history. There was a good few I didn’t know about.

My eldest found the 100 piece fine at 6 years old. I did help her but I know she would have been able to compete alone!

We decided to do the 500 piece as a twosome the next day. This definitely took us longer and in the end it was my husband and I who finished it!

My eldest helped me out but after a good hour, she moved onto something else. She is only 6 and not had lots of jigsaw practice but she was really good at finding pieces for me. I found it quite tough as out of practice too.

My husband and I however, really enjoyed it! We had both forgotten how addictive a good jigsaw can be and may get one again in the future. Christmas would be a good time!

Overall Thoughts

We as a family really enjoyed doing the Rebel Girls Jigsaws from Gibsons. As well, as being something we could all get involved with, we learnt something too.

It was really relaxing sitting together doing the puzzles. My eldest and I had a cuppa, listened to music and chatted about nonsense, so it was really lovely. Screen free, quality time together.

My husband re-discovered his jigsaw love and we have definitely decided to buy one for Christmas this year.

Overall a thumbs up. Brilliant puzzles for the family and a great way to learn about amazing women in history for us all.
