Neon Effect Message Frame from Wicked Uncle – REVIEW and GIVEAWAY | AD

My eldest is definitely at that point now where she is starting to want more grown up gifts for her birthday and Christmas. She still loves some toys but clothes, make-up and accessories are definitely making their way onto her lists more and more. I knew she would love this Neon Effect Message Frame from Wicked Uncle. It makes a fun addition to her room and is a giggle to leave cute and funny messages on too!

More About the Neon Effect Message Frame

This frame currently retails at £16.95 and does require 3AAA batteries that are not included.

You can leave your family and friends notes, doodles or pictures on this LED light up message board. The 23cm square frame is made from plastic and features a central glass panel for writing your messages. Included are bright, vibrant neon pink, green and orange pens to create your messages/ The frame can be hung on the wall or stands free on any flat surface.

Once you are done you can wipe and dry the frame clean and start again!

Bear in mind the pens have a special ink for the neon effect. Sometimes the pen nibs need to be pressed down for around 30 seconds in order for the ink to draw through.

Wicked Uncle has a huge range of gifts for children of all age ranges and interests. You can search by interest, age and gender.

Using the Frame

The frame is pretty easy to set up. Simply take out of the box and put in the batteries. We did have a little issue with this however. My husband struggled to get the screws to turn and we did have to prise the battery holder open a little.

However, once the batteries in, there is a button on the top to light up the frame.

As mentioned, you do need to press the neon pens down for 30 seconds to get them to work. Then you can simply draw on the frame. At first I wasn’t sure what it would look like when we lit it up but it was really the Wow factor. Both my daughter and I were like ahhhh.

Our message and picture really lit up and looked neon! Which may seem a daft thing to say but I wasn’t too sure what to expect!

Bear in mind, the ink of the pens does run. My eldest coloured in the heart I drew and it started to run when we stood it up. We had to wipe the frame a little. It may be best just to write and draw the outlines, rather than colour in.

Overall Thoughts

The frame makes a fun addition to a bedroom, office or living area! Great to leave messages for friends and family and to get creative.

The light gives the neon pens a really cool effect and looks even better when it is evening or getting dark!

It is pretty easy to wipe and dry clean and use again.

The only issues we had was getting the batteries in. You need to find the screwdriver but even so, my husband found it tricky to turn the screws. Also only do words and outlines on the frame, as we did find the ink ran if a picture was coloured in. My eldest drew a heart and the ink ran when the frame was stood up.

It would certainly make a fun and original gift and with Christmas coming up, a perfect excuse to treat someone.
