My Autumn Fashion Essentials

AD – I actually love autumn. The cooler days. The leaves falling off the trees. Halloween, Bonfire Night. There really is an endless list of things to like but one the biggest things is the fashion.

Don’t get me wrong, I love living in sandals and denim shorts but it is nice to get back into boots, jeans, knits and warm jackets and coats. I’m a browser. I love looking at outfits, browsing catalogues and planning what sort of things will match and go together. Quite often I find that fashion seems to go full circle, or continue from the summer, so I actually have quite a lot of pieces I can continue wearing this autumn. Also some items from last year, even from my autumn-winter maternity fashion guide.

So what am I loving this year?

Lace Up Boots

I usually treat myself to a new pair of boots most years (even thought many from last year are fine!!). I love the lace up boots that have hit the shops this year. I am always shopping at New Look so headed straight there for a pair and found these wider fit, heeled pair. They are going to look fabulous with skinny jeans, dresses and skirts, teamed with tights.

Teddy Coats

I bought a teddy coat last year when I was pregnant with the little man. I knew I would want to wear it after he was born, so I bought my regular size and just stretched it over my growing bump. These are still in the shops this season so I can’t wait to continue wearing. What I also love is you can get in so many different colours too.

Mom Jeans

I was never sure about baggy jeans until my cousin persuaded me to buy a pair in good old Primark. As I’m quite slim, I’m never sure about the fit on my, as they can drown me, but I own a couple of pairs now and think look great with trainers. Both are quite high waisted but so comfortable and are great for keeping warm and chilling out.

Midi and Long Skirts

I bought a couple of skirts over the summer months; one a wrap and the other more pleated and again I’m pleased to see these are still fashionable, as the autumn comes along. I have an animal print one that I’m sure I’ll now be able to team with tights and my boots and will look great. I love how animal print never seems to be going out of fashion either!

This one below may not be in stock anymore but was another trusted New Look one and they have loads of other designs too!

Slogan Tees

I will never get sick of slogan tees! I wear them so much they get stains all over them and I just have to buy another. I wear them out. They just look fab with jeans, midi skirts and knits. This one from from Ren and Gem and perfect for me, as a Mama of three.

I’m hoping I can mix and match some of may previous years clothes but some new bits and bobs. I love the high street. You definitely don’t have to spend a fortune.

What will you be wearing this autumn? What are your autumn fashion essentials?
