Velocity Collection from My Protein – REVIEW and GIVEAWAY | AD

Velocity Collection My Protein in Plum

New active wear always motivates me to exercise and train harder. There is always that excitement to wear your new kit and get out for a run or hit the gym (or maybe currently train at home!). I was very happy recently to review some of the new Composure Collection from My Protein. This collection is designed for pilates and yoga and so comfortable. You can therefore imagine I was thrilled to be asked to review some more active wear from the My Protein Velocity Collection too.

In 2020 you either decided to get fit or not during the lockdown. I’ve heard completely mixed tales about people’s journeys. But as we move into 2021, it’s always a time for new goals and new motivation. I love being active and exercising. I talk about it a lot on my blog and on social media but it is a core part of me. It is amazing for my mental health and gives me that me time away from the kids (yes we all need that!).

Some people ask me how I fit my exercise in and for me it’s before the school run. I try to get to the gym twice a week and get out for a run another two days a week. I go early and get it done and it sets me up for the day!

So some new activewear will always push me along on my fitness journey and get me out of bed in the mornings. It is so cold right now!

The Velocity Collection from My Protein

As specified online, the Velocity Collection from My Protein:

“Whether you need something designed for those high intensity workouts, or you’re ready to take your running to the next level, our brand-new Velocity Collection is here to supercharge your sessions. High performing fabrics ensure you stay comfortable when training, meaning that our Velocity Collection is workout gear that’ll keep up with you.”

I’ve been out jogging and running more during lockdown. I’ve always had issues with my knees since before I got married. A 10km used to be easy for me but now I’m lucky to get to 5km without twinges. It frustrates me, as I know my fitness would let me run for longer but I have to be grateful to have what I have! I’m loving getting out for 30-40 minutes once or twice a week again. Sometimes my eldest comes with me on her bike or her scooter and we love it!

I was looking forward to testing out the Velocity Collection on my next run!

The Women’s Velocity Collection

After previously picking a new pair of shorts from The Composure Collection, I knew it was time to go for leggings again. It’s also pretty cold now, so have to think about warmth too!

The Women’s Velocity Sculpt Leggings

I absolutely love the the plum colour so chose the MP Women’s Velocity Sculpt Leggings in Plum. I went for a size small and these retail at £30.99.

I was also sent, as a bonus some MP Women’s Velocity Sculpt Leggings in Deep Lake. These are also a size small and retail at £30.99.

These leggings are snuggly and it does say online that they will feel tight when you put them on. They do! I went for my usual size small and I wasn’t sure I would pull either leggings on but I did. Once they were on, I was comfortable.

The leggings have laser perforations which aid temperature regulation and sweat-wicking, quick-drying fabrics to ensure comfort throughout any training sessions.

The Women’s Velocity Sculpt Sport’s Bra

I wanted to match of course and then chose the MP Women’s Velocity Sculpt Sports Bra in Plum. This retails at £23.99.

The Velocity Sculpt Sports Bra is made from a sweat-wicking and quick-drying fabric. It has a medium support, built-in moulded cups and a zip front for a tighter fit.

Available in the collection are cycling shorts, long vests and long sleeved tops.

Running Wearing Velocity

I went out immediately after taking these photographs. I usually manage a 5km.

The leggings were fabulous. Really comfortable. I’d got over the initial tightness after putting them on and I had no issues running. I was kept cool throughout the 30-40 minutes I was out but also not too cold!

However, I did have issues with the top.

It’s clipped at the front in the middle and zipped up. However, when I started running the zip came down and finally unpopped at the bottom! Luckily the clasp stayed together for my run but I don’t think I will be wearing this top to the gym; not before I have checked out wearing it one more time. I may have not fastened it well but bear this in mind.

However, I like the style of the top and it was comfortable. Like the leggings it was tight at first but after a while felt fine. I’m pretty flat chested anyone and don’t need a lot of support and I liked the padding, as did give me some shape!

Apart from the issues I had with the bra top, I love my new active wear from the Velocity Collection from My Protein. They look great and are really supportive! I was really comfortable in the leggings when I went out for my first run and they kept me nice and cool.

They do feel tight when you first put anything on from the Collection but after a while they feel comfortable and you know you have picked the right size! I will echo what they say on the website – buy your usual size!

Price-wise they are competitive for most active wear and for the quality it is worth it!

If you are looking to start running or some high intensity training, you will be sorted with the Velocity Collection from My Protein.
