AD – I have seen L.O.L Surprise! when out about shopping and I’ll be honest, I didn’t think my eldest knew anything about them. How wrong was I! I was kindly sent the fab new L.O.L. Surprise! Pearl Surprise edition and decided to give it to her for Easter. She was SO excited to find it and excitedly told me her friend had one and she had seen them on YouTube.
This toy looked like it would be a winner. We have reviewed the L.O.L. Surprise ! Fuzzy Pets recently too and the Pop-Up Store.
What is the L.O.L Surprise! Pearl Surprise?
This new edition comes with a rainbow fizz surprise! This Pearl Surprise Edition comes with a glitter purse carrying case and 6 small accessories inside. You drop the giant fizz shell into water and it reveals a special edition Tot and Lil’ Sister inside a Seashell display.
The toy is recommended for those over 6 years. My eldest is only 4 but we supervised her at all times and there were no issues.
This edition currently retails at £29.99.
Opening the L.O.l Surprise! Pearl Edition
We all sat and read the instructions, as we were all L.O.L Surprise newbies. The gremlin was ready to rip the whole thing open immediately and we had to slow her down!
You need a little adult help to open the product and some scissors.
It’s important you follow the instructions and open the product as advised, as you can see from the picture below.
This is what you find!
The fizz shell must be dropped into at least 3 litres of water and you are advised not to add to the bath. We decided to take up to the bathroom and use one of the gremlin’s baby baths.
The fizz shell was awesome. It really fizzed, like a giant bath bomb. The water went a reddy, orange colour and you could start to see a blue shell appearing underneath.
The gremlin did touch the fizz shell but we made sure she washed her hands well.
Once the blue shell appeared we rinsed and dried is and took downstairs to open. Inside the shell were three little bags, ready to open.
Inside the bag were two dolls and an accessory.
We then had the 6 balls to open up, which contained clothes for the Tot, including tops, bottoms and shoes.
You can then add the Tot to icy cold water and she changes colour; in her case a bikini appeared on her body. When she warms up, this disappears. The gremlin was fascinated by this.
Later on, she also discovered that the Lil’ sister’s nappy and dummy also change colour and this also brought on some excitement!
Our Thoughts
I’m going to be totally honest about the price straight away. £29.99 is a lot of money for this and what you are left with. Ultimately it’s a doll that changes colour and some accessories BUT I have to say the experience of the product and the gremlin’s reaction to it were priceless.
She was so excited and it is an activity you can do together. The fizz shell is really cool and so unique for a toy. I liked how the the the unveiling of the product was in so many stages and the was so much anticipation with each.
My eldest loved it; she was riveted and she loved the end products. She sat and played with the two dolls and accessories for ages. She loved adding the Tot to cold water and watching the changes to her clothes. It definitely kept her entertained for while.
So do like this new L.O.L Surprise! Pearl Edition? Yes I do.
Do I think it is pricey? Yes I do.
Would I recommend it? I have to say yes, as my eldest was just so happy and entertained. If you are happy with a pricey toy which makes your child so happy and fulfills their YouTube dreams; then it is a total winner!!
