Valentine’s Gift Guide – For the Man in Your Life

Valentine’s Day is coming quick and I gave you some ideas for the ladies last week. Now it’s time to think about the men in your life! My husband is notoriously hard to buy for and it doesn’t help that post Christmas, he has a January birthday too. My present ideas have completely ran out.

As usual, everything in my guide has been hubby approved. Hope I can inspire you a little and Happy Valentine’s Day!

1) A Suit from Dobell

Hubby is a bit stingy sometimes and doesn’t always treat himself to smart items. He could always so with a new suit when he has to travel with work. This lovely item from Dobell is perfect for him.

It retails at £119.99 and is made of a lighweigt, durable fabric, with a tailored fit. It is single-breasted with two buttons and is dry clean only. Dobell stock a range of suits, jackets, waistcoats, shirts and accessories so there is bound to be something to “suit” the man in your life.

2) The Gillette Fusion ProShield Chill

I know beards and facial hair are in fashion but it doesn’t cut it for me. The other half has joked about growing a beard but it never really happens so he always needs a reliable razor to keep his face silky smooth.

This Gillette Fusion ProShield Chill razor is perfect for this and is currently available from Boots,  and was retailing at £12, but is now £8.

Here are more of the product specifications; it sounds like a lovely, clean shave:

  • Gillette Fusion ProShield Lubrication before and after the blades shields from irritation
  • Gillette Fusion ProShield Men’s Razor features Flexball Technology that responds to contours, getting virtually every hair
  • Five precision blades provide less tug and pull* for incredible comfort (*vs Fusion)
  • Chill with Cooling Technology during the shave
  • Blades fit all Fusion and ProGlide handles

3) A Winter Bobble Hat from Buff Wear

My husband must have had the same hat since I met him and this winter has felt particularly cold. I have lived in my bobble hat most days on the school run. He has always been after a warm bobble hat and this one from Buff is perfect. It retails at £36.77 and is made from 73% Acrylic, 27% Wool. It is a comfort fit and available in 5 colours.

Buff stock a wide range of headwear, multi-functional, designed to keep the head and neck warm. They also stock hoodies, bandanas, neckwarmers and products even for dogs, who may join you on your adventures!

4) A cheeky Valentine’s Day Card from Scribbler’s Cards

I’m not much of a soppy person when it comes to cards and I’m not also a fan of those which are trying a bit too hard to be funny. Scribbler’s cards are perfect for me. There is comedy, originality and a some rudeness all thrown into one. Perfect for my husband’s sense of humour. They have a great selection of Valentine’s Day cards this 2018, and I was also sent a funny selection.

Definitely worth checking out for a different kind of Valentine’s Day card this year!

5) Moosehead Gritty Styling Clay

My husband always jokes when his hair gets a bit longer his hair looks a bit like a toilet brush! He needs some strong styling products to hold it in place. Moosehead Gritty Styling Clay is one just for him. This product is designed for a strong hold and a matte finish, to add texture and definition. It is actually designed for all hair types and it retails at £4.99 and is available on Amazon.

6) A Screen Printed Tee from Printsome

Hubby loves his Tees, especially if a logo or bold design. Screen printing T-Shirts are becoming more popular and Printsome offer personalised Tees for any design required at great rates too. This would make a really personal and unique gift.

7) Boxers from Comfyballs

I love the name of this brand and they do exactly what is described. Comfyballs are a Norwegian underwear brand and are known as the “Wonder Bra of boxers!” They are thought to reduce the risk of discomfort by lifting the vital equipment away from the legs to reduce heat transfer and restrict their movement. This is thought to aid testicular health.

They are especially suited for sporting activities but can be used as a regular boxer. My hubby tends to use the more fitted type when at the gym, so these would be ideal.

They retail at £30.

8) Nelsons Arnicare Bath & Massage Balm

You always need a bit of massage on Valentine’s Day. Spice things up a bit. This bath and massage balm from Nelsons sounds lovely. This is described as, “As a luxurious dual-purpose balm, it’s perfect for a romantic massage or pouring into a bath to create a gorgeous fragrance that will help your partner to relax and unwind after a busy day. The natural properties of Arnica montana extract and sweet scents of Lavender and Grapefruit essential oils are ideal for calming senses and melting away tension. It’s also enriched with Evening Primrose and Sweet Almond oil making it the perfect pampering treat.”

It’s available from both Boots and Amazon and retails at £8.55.

9) A Hoody from EMP

My husband adores his hoodies. I fact, he lives in them! Add this to designs featuring gaming, TV shoes or movies, he is in heaven. EMP stock a range of clothing for both men and women and feature so many shows, bands and games including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Metallica. Hubby loves this Super Mario Hoody, especially the design on the back. This is currently retailing at £32.99 and comes in small, up to XX large and is 50% cotton and 50% polyester. I love a drawstring hood too.

 10) Peaky Blinders Spiced Rum

For my husband two things he really loves are rum and Peaky Blinders and 31.Dover.com have combined the two for a really unique gift. Their Peaky Blinders spiced rum retails at £24.99, with an extra £4.99 for an premium gift box.

Taken directly from online, “This bold, warming Caribbean rum is blended with spices and aged in ex-Pedro Ximenez cask for a sweet finish. It is the result of the Sadler family’s Black Country determination and hard graft. Purveying the finest beers and spirits since 1900, over a century’s worth of knowledge and passion has led the family to create this black spiced rum.”

I hope this has given you a little inspiration, if you are buying something for the man in your life this Valentine’s Day. If you celebrate it, have an awesome day!
