I don’t normally bother with New Year’s Resolutions as I don’t like to stress over the like things I enjoy (like chocolate everyday)! However, I reckon my husband could do with making a few and when the lovely Emily from Twin Mummy and Daddy tagged me in her resolutions for Nigel at DIY Daddy, I thought why not?
Don’t get me wrong I love the old ball and chain and he does a lot for us all but all men need a slight kick up the arse now and then eh? And to make it very fair, I have a feeling this post will follow with a list of all his resolutions for me. We shall see.
So hubby this is what you need to do…..
- Stop half doing jobs. Now and then you clean the bathrooms. Great! But I have to follow suit and change the hand towels over, put all the toiletries back around the bath, put the cleaning stuff away. So I may as well do the whole thing.
- Put your clothes AWAY! You tell me it takes a while to get sorted for my bath with the gremlin. Yes! This is because I use the wardrobe, not the floordrobe.
- Stop buying more plants. If we have anymore in the garden and house people will start holidaying here thinking it is the Amazon Rainforest!
- Stop reading to the gremlin and dumping all the books under the bed. There is pretty much a library under there and muggins here has to move them all back to the bookshelf periodically. Drives me nuts!!!
- Stop having a bowl of cereal before bed. You could have had a treat and cuppa literally 40 minutes earlier but you still have that darn cereal. You are like a hamster.
- Suck it up and play babies with your eldest. I know you hate it and always try to entice her to do something else, like look at the inside of the your computer(!) It is fun to play when you get going honestly!!
- Put your effing shoes and coat away when you come in the door. Enough said.
- If you want to buy something just BUY IT! Six months of price research and review reading takes all the fun out of it and it is soooo annoying!
Ah I better stop now for fear of getting a retaliation post.
If you are reading this and would like to have a go, consider yourself tagged!
Haha!! This is brilliant!! I love it! Thanks for taking part!!
Hilarious! I’m not so brave! Would love to read the post on his reaction to these resolutions and his progress over the year! #TwinklyTuesday
Oh, your post made me laugh out loud. Some of this resolutions are just right for mine too! Especially the last one! It makes me feel better though to know I’m not the only one with a hubby who does a six month research before buying! Soooo annoying!!!;)) P.S. Have you showed this to your darling?;) #TwinklyTuesday
Hahahaha! THIS is so TRUE! My daddy researches purchases for months in advance too! He says that he enjoys that more than the item actually arriving! Crazy eh? #TwinklyTuesday x
Lol, I love this post! Half-doing jobs drives me crazy with my hubby too. I have to confess that I’m one for putting books under the bed too – but in my defence, I’m always the one that ends up returning them to the bookshelf later anyway! #twinklytuesday
Oh dear oh dear, I think you have some ‘issues’ oh ginger one .
I think books under the bed are a good idea, easy access for the following night
But it is nice that you let Chris have a ‘treat’ PMSL, and what pray tell does he. Want to be when he grows up .
Have to agree on the plants though, Chris you are a little errrr… ‘compulsive’ in your green fingered approach ☘
Hilarious love it it must a be a bloke thing I take 6 months to buy anything totally with him on that one gotta get the best price however long it takes thanks for hosting #bestandworst
Pahahahahahahahahaha this made I laff. I fear there are more resolutions I need to look at as opposed to Wes. Although I wish he’d stop nagging. #bestandworst
Back again for #bestandworst. Thanks for hosting xx
Haha! Mine would be to actually close his sock drawer properly without half the contents poking out of the top (I don’t think he has ever closed a drawer fully in his entire life), stop putting a used wet spoon in the coffee jar, thus creating sticky bits of coffee on the sides of the jar, and, above all….STOP SNORING!!! (I love him really) #bestandworst
haha this is fab! Men!
Hahaha love this and some of these so apply to my hubs too… But actually a lot apply to me too, oops haha I definitely have a floordrobe 🙂 xx
My husband is a fan of the floordrobe too, it drives me crackers!
#BestandWorst
I can relate to the clothes, shoes & coats one – all three drive me mad! #twinklytuesday
So what did he think of these?! My partner seems quite well behaved in comparison!!! Lx
I love these posts! I think I might have to do it before January is out – maybe he’ll take note?! Or maybe not….! #bestandworst
Ha ha, brilliant! Mind you, I better keep my mouth shut as it’s probably all the other way round in our house
#Bestandworst
So many sympathies with all the messy house things like dumping hats and coats. If it is a wet day here on the farm I can have 5 or 6 sets dumped and left! #Best&Worst
Oh boy can I relate to this. My husband definately does half jobs and it gets right on my wick. Like the other day I asked gim to run tue hoover round so he did. Round the living room. Just the living room. We have a 3 story house ffs! What about the rest of the rooms? Sorry, it’s still a sore point lol. Men eh? What are they like? By the way, I don’t make new years resolutions either. I don’t really see the point. I never ever stick to them.
#bestandworst
haha, is this his new years resolutions or your new years venting page?
Hilarious, oh my gosh I can so relate to this, fixing computers rather than playing babies ummm yes! Cereal at night YES, but you really had me laughing at 6 months of research, I always feel like I can’t buy him anything because I know he would research first. Funny guys! #bestandworst
Haha, the bathroom bit reminded me of my ex-husband, he was horrendous for that! #BestandWorst x
What a awesome idea for a post! I can only imagine what my husband would say mine should be. Haha. #Bestandworst
Love this idea, I am not brave enough though!
Oh what it is with the price matching and reviews, my husband is the same! He sent me a link earlier on with the top 10 best microwaves….seriously, they all the same thing, just bloody buy one!! #bestandworst
Ha ha I love the one about just buying something without weeks of research. I have one of them at home!:) I will research but it takes me about 3 minutes:)
Mainy
#bestandworst
Thanks for the giggles x #bestandworst
I can hear the frustration in your writing haha! That last point is totally the same as mine…researches everything and I’m bored of it by the time it turns up! Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
i need to get my husband to do a list! #bestandworst.
Haha, brilliant!! I should do this tag. Adi is sooo the same about researching stuff before buying, just be impulsive for a change, be a rebel. #bestandworst
hahaha this is brilliant! It sounds like he’s really trying 😀
I might be a bit long winded in research too though #bestandworst
Ha ha! This is a great post honey. Mr H definitely does the same thing when buying something. It annoys me so much. And he expects the same from me. Doesn’t do much for impulse buys. Hugs Lucy xxxx Popping over, very belatedly due to a sick family, from #TwinklyTuesday xxxx
oh yes the books under the kids beds drives me crazy!!! I am totally with you on that! I can relate to a few of these actually xx #bestandworst
You’re too funny! I am all about the half-jobs. It’s a start! (And sometimes *I* am guilty of doing half-jobs…whatever I have time to do. 🙂
