Barbie Dreamtopia Styling Head **REVIEW**

When I was a kid, I always wanted one of those styling heads. In fact I’m sure if I had one I may actually be better at doing my gremlin’s hair. We were given the opportunity to review the Barbie Dreamtopia Styling Head by Just Play/ Flair and I was very keen (mainly to practice!).

The Dreamtopia range is based on a recent series and film in which Barbie’s younger sister Chelsea creates a magical, make believe world. Think fairies and sparkly wings and forests of fruit and sweets and you’re thinking along the right lines.

The Product

Barbie has beautiful pink, blue and blonde hair which you can style using the 20 pieces included; a brush, barettes, gems and bands. They come in a variety of colours. I really liked her sparkly dress.

The product retails at £19.99 and is recommended for age 3 years and up.

Our Verdict

The gremlin has a few Barbies so she was very keen to get her hands on this product. She usually wants to do my hair, which I actually quite like!

You will have to excuse her face in the pics – she was Hello Kitty from a morning party!

I feel she was a little young to do many styles herself yet as has just turned 4 but she really enjoyed brushing Barbie’s hair and let me have a good go myself. I had a little look on YouTube for some ideas.

She was keen to add the barrettes and the little gems and we sat and played together for a good while.

Barbie isn’t the most sturdy and for clumsy people like me, I did knock her over a few times when trying to do her hair but this shouldn’t be a problem for smaller hands.

You can see the extent of my hair style expertise from the picture below.

Overall

For children who love pretending to be hair dressers and enjoy imaginative play it would make a really great gift. I think it is priced correctly and good fun. It is brilliant for imaginative play and those who love Barbie too.
