The gremlin is a big Paw Patrol Fan. She not only watches it; she wants to me to play the theme tune. A LOT!
I’m trying to encourage her to play alone a little more when I have a few jobs or have to deal with her little sister. She has a brilliant imagination and when she gets going; she really plays well. This is obviously fabulous for me.
The opportunity to review two Paw Patrol toys from Spin Master which would be great for this, came at a perfect time!
My lucky gremlin was sent Skye and Zuma’s Lighthouse Rescue Track Set.
She was also sent Marshall’s Pet Rescue Track set (which is coming soon!)
The beauty of these two sets is they can be played separately or joined together to make a larger track and game. All these sets play on the theme of the Pups saving the day, just like the TV show.
Skye and Zuma’s Lighthouse Rescue
This retails at £39.99 (RRP).
The Features are listed below:
- Build the track set, and help save Wally by setting him free from his net when Zuma’s Hovercraft hits the lever.
- Rotate Skye around the lighthouse as she flies to power the light!
- Connect other Paw Patrol track sets and create all new adventures (each sold separately). All mini figures and PAW racers work with Paw Patrol Roll Patrol sets (sold separately).
- Skye & Zuma’s Lighthouse Rescue Track Set is for ages 3+ and requires 3 LR44 batteries (included).
The gremlin literally made me rip the box almost open to get inside. It came with clear instructions, which showed you what pieces you should expect to find in the box and how to assemble the set. I’ll admit it! I looked at the picture on the front to put it all together and I didn’t need the instructions. It was really easy to build. This is what is included:
- 3 Track ends
- 1 Dock
- 1 Lighthouse
- 1 Skye Mini figure
- 1 Wally Track Piece
- 4 Water Track Ramps
- 1 Zuma Racer
- 1 Merge Track
- 1 Intersection Track
- 1 Straight Water Track
- 2 Merge Water
I was pleased the batteries were included too.
The gremlin loved it! Her friend popped over the day after too and was equally enraptured. It really captured her imagination and kept her occupied for ages. She wanted to play with Skye, so getting her to attach it to the lighthouse was impossible! You are able to press the top of the lighthouse and Skye flies around it, the lighthouse lighting up.
She did need some help setting it up but it’s likely older children wouldn’t have this issue.
As you can see it looks pretty impressive. I often think a pictures speaks a thousand words, so here is my eldest enjoying herself.
See what I mean about Skye?
Marshall’s Pet Rescue Set (coming soon)
I made her wait a couple of days before opening Marshall’s Pet Rescue track set. Kept her champing at the bit a little while longer.
This is a smaller set, with the specifics not available online yet. It forms a simple figure of 8.
It comes with:
- Katie’s pet parlour playset
- Marshall rescue racer
- Cali kitty figure
- 1 Intersection track
- 2 Merge tracks
- 4 Curved tracks
- 2 Track ends
Similarly this set was very simple to set up. Marshall, in his fire truck, flies around the track to rescue Cali the cat from the parlour roof, at the push of a button.
My youngest was desperately trying to get involved!
As you can see you can attach it to the other set and allows little ones to really use their imaginations and change the design each time.
Overall I was impressed with the kits. For Paw Patrol fans they will be in heaven and have hours of fun. I must admit they are quite pricey but for little ones who adore the show, they are worth the money, as a present or treat.
They are simple to set up and little ones can use their imagination and change their track designs and games with every day of playing. My little one sat and played on her own for a good while, which is fab for her.
The pieces are pretty sturdy. My 8 month old loved pulling the track apart, much to her sister’s annoyance and there was no damage or breakages.
If you know a Paw Patrol fan, you would be onto a winner with these sets!
