Experience Freedom Presents Cyclefest 2018

As someone who loves exercise, trying to get my family out and about and keeping active is something I am really passionate about. We recently had a couple of day trips over the Easter break; the girls walked, playing and did a lot of running about with friends. They returned home, tired out with hearty appetites. Fresh air and keeping active is good for the soul, as well as a brilliant opportunity to spend time as a family.
Cycling is a brilliant way to combine both activity and fresh air and add family to the mix. As a child my fondest summer memories were long cycling rides in the summer heat, stopping for picnics, being active and spending time with my family. It is important to keep yourself warm on the colder days and look no further
Cyclefest is the perfect way for the family to combine quality time together, activity and the great outdoors.
It is important to have the correct equipment for cycling and look no further then https://www.globosurfer.com/best-winter-cycling-shoes/ for all your cycling shoe needs!

What is Cyclefest?

Cyclefest is a trio of cycling events, held across the UK;  there is the Scottish Wanderer in Kelso on 6th May, the National Wanderer in Sledmere on 27th May and the Welsh Wanderer in Monmouth on 26th August.

Each event offers sportive routes ranging from 52-89km. There is an 8 mile family fun ride and a “Have a Go” Bike Demo Day. There is a cycling village at each with plenty to do and see.

There are competitions to enter, bike exhibitions, a bike demo course and a bike skills area, so plenty for anyone who is a bike fanatic.

Why Attend?

Cyclefest offers so much if you are just someone who loves to cycle or if you have a family who share your passion. The sportive route at all locations offers a scenic ride where you will see the sights of the area, alongside your fellow cyclists.

The family 8 mile route is designed for both adults and children and allows many bike types to ride, including electrically assisted, road or mountain bikes. It can be done leisurely and lets little ones build and increase on their cycle confidence and have a day with activity, making happy memories.

Both rides also include for your reassurance:

  •    Facilities and parking
  •    Mechanical support
  •    Medical support
  •    Full route marking
  •    Feed stops
  •    Energy food and drink
  •    Finisher medal
  •    On-site catering
  •    Pick-up wagons
  •    Retail opportunity

You don’t have to travel far for some stunning local scenery and locations and Cyclefest has really picked out some pretty places in the UK, so you can experience the sights too.

If you are feeling like these fab cycling events are for you this Spring and Summer it is worth heading over the Cyclefest website as there is an online discount of £5 for pre-purchased tickets. All other prices can be found there too.

Also Cyclefest tickets give you entrance to The National, held in Yorkshire. This is hosted by the Caravan and Motorhome Club on the 25-29th May. This is on the grounds of Sledmere House and offers fun, family shows day and night, street food, stalls and traders and crafts and competitions.

If you attend, have a fabulous time!
