Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner- REVIEW

Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner- REVIEW

AD – The Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner is a game changer for me!

For me one of the hardest and possibly most annoying things about having kids is the spillages; the crumbs and the general mess. You get a new carpet and you can guarantee there will be something spilt on it. You get a new sofa and you know yoghurt will be spilt on it and don’t even get me started on the inside of my husband’s car! Bottom line, nice things may get stained but this doesn’t have to be an issue!

I’m at that time of year when I go a bit nutty and decide to spring clean and declutter and when I was offered the chance to review the Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner, I knew it had come at the perfect time.

More About Rug Doctor

Rug Doctor offer a range of cleaning products to purchase and hire for both carpets, upholstery and are perfect for carpet and pet stains (or in my case child stains!)

They offer carpet cleaners, spot cleaners and a range of cleaning products to ensure your stain is tackled!

The Rug Doctor Deep Cleaner

We were kindly sent the Rug Doctor Deep Cleaner, which RRPs at £299.99.  This product is actually award winning and uses dual cross brushes to clean your carpet in one pass, as they oscillate through carpet fibres. There is also a spray system for more stubborn stains.

There is no need to assemble the product, you just simply lift it out of the box and can get started.

The Rug Doctor Deep Carpet cleaner has powerful suction technology, which means more moisture is sucked up and less drying time is required.

There is also a removable tool to allow you to clean upholstery and this will be more of the focus of this review. You can clean the stairs, stains and even your car.

It’s compact and can be folded down for easy storage.

Setting Up and Using the Rug Doctor Deep Cleaner

You can see my husband and I setting up and using the product on the video below but more details and pictures, keep reading!

As specified, the cleaner is so easy to assemble. You do simply lift it out of the box and can start your cleaning job!

We were focusing more on the upholstery cleaning for this review and my husband decided he would like to clean his car seats, as we have a large milk stain on the passenger seat.

It was so easy to set the cleaner up, as the instructions are clear and the cleaner is well labelled. As you can see, there is a clear handle for carrying and two tanks, with handles for easy removal to fill and empty. There is a clean water and dirty water tank.

We were sent some Rug Doctor cleaning products; carpet detergent (RRP £9.99-19.99 depending on size), fabric cleaner (RRP £12.99) and another detergent.

As my hubby was cleaning the car seats, we chose the upholstery cleaner. You simply remove and fill the clean water tank to the marked line with warm tap water and the tank lid doubles up as a measurer for the cleaning product.

You add the tank back to the cleaner and attach the removable tool caddy.

Again it is very self explanatory on the product to how it connects to the main cleaner, in two places.

Once connected you are ready to go! You simply switch the button on the top to the stain cleaning function and use the spray button on the removable caddy to spray your stain. Then just use the head to clean your stain. It’s noisy when the cleaner in working but as you clean, it starts to smell really nice.

As the cleaner sucks up so much of the moisture from the fabric, it barely feels wet and dries quickly! Once you have finished cleaning and given the dirty water chance to funnel into the dirty water chamber, you are ready to empty it. Trust me, that water looks filthy too.

Our Thoughts

We were very impressed. It is not often you get a product that is so simple to use, that does exactly what it says on the tin. As you can see if you watched the video, the stain was almost completely removed. As this was a deep milk stain, that had been left for weeks, I was impressed. The car seats looked better and it smelt nice too.

The cleaner requires no assembly which is a complete bonus for me and the instructions are very easy to follow to set the cleaner up. As mentioned, the cleaner is well labelled and easy to navigate around.

It was easy to use, as well and quick! It didn’t take my husband long to clean his car seats and no masses of water was used so could clean more than planned.

I also like how it is portable and can be stored easily. The cleaning products go a long way, as I’m sure like us, you wouldn’t be cleaning that often and he thought he could get at least 4 cleans out of the fabric cleaner.

Price wise, it is similar to one of the top hoovers on the market and it does a much better, deeper job.

I would fully recommend this Rug Doctor Deep Cleaner. It works!
