Kuala Lumpur is a beautiful place in the heart of Malaysia and it has so many amazing places to see, things to do and food to eat, and today we are going to have a chat about just a few of these things which you can enjoy with your family this winter.

Nasi Kandar

Nasi Kandar isn’t a place nor is it an activity, instead, it is a mixed rice dish which is hugely popular in the area and its one which you simply have to try during your stay to Kuala Lumpur. For this dish, you will be given a bowl of plain rice with a sauce and some sort of meat such as seafood or beef, and then you can have some vegetables added to the curry for a super comforting dish which will be exactly what you need after a day out exploring the city.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

Whether you are staying in the middle of Kuala Lumpur or a little out at empire damansara, the bird park is somewhere you absolutely have to visit while you are here if you love wildlife. This park spans an impressive 20 acres of lands and you will be able to see over 3000 birds thriving in the area. Most of the species which you will see here are native birds which are local to the area as the park wants to promote these species to anyone who visits. However, there are also a few more tropical bird who are living in the park too. You can enjoy spawning the day getting up close to these animals and learning about both them and the plants which they live in and around. This is a really wonderful place because the park focuses a lot on conservation and is making a difference to the planet.

National Museum

Whenever you visit a new part of the world for the first time we advise you to search out a museum and spend the day learning about the history and the culture of the place which you are visiting. The Kuala Lumpur National Museum is a great place to visit on a rainy day and is located close to the lake gardens. The building itself is unique and highly decorated. When you enter the museum you will be able to see the history of Malaysia and you can take a close look at wedding scenes, hunting scenes, and Malay houses. There are also some exhibits which are temporary and visit the museum throughout different part of the year so you can catch something new.

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

If you have a family or you are just a big kid at heart, the place you will have to visit during your holding to Kuala Lumpur is the Sunway Lagoon. This is a theme park just beyond the city and is full to the brim with everything you could possibly want for a theme park day with the family. You will be able to enjoy the rollercoasters and rides, swim in the pool and slide down water slides, play on the wave machine, and even play arcade games or visit the zoo. This is like the ultimate playground and it is a really amazing place to come to visit during the holiday! You’ll never want to leave.

Aquaria KLCC

If you have always been fascinated by sea life and the depths of the ocean, this is the best experience you will have of the sea outside of actually diving into it yourself. The Aquaria KLCC is more than just a regular aquarium, it is an ocean experience and you will be able to walk the 300-foot tunnel and see fish swimming around them from the sides and above too. You’ll feel as if you are in the bottom of the sea as toy watch fish swimming overhead and the natural landscapes of the ocean. You’ll be able to enjoy more than just ocean creatures as the aquarium also has sections for swamp creatures and freshwater fish too. It is an experience you have to see and it will be amazing.

Pasar Seni

If you fancy a day exploring the city and doing a little bit of shopping, you can visit the Pasar Seni in the city and ship around the market for homemade foods, produce and lots of unique items such as jewelry and clothing. This is a bustling marketplace and the atmosphere is truly something you want to enjoy during your stay here. You will be able to sample amazing local delicacies, take your time speaking to the locals and have a wonderful time on a quiet day of your holiday. If you fancy sitting down for a while make sure to travel to the front of the market and you’ll be able to see musicians and street performers entertain the crowd all day long.

Railway Station

It might seem like a strange thing to place a railway station on this list, however, it isn’t in full use any longer as it has been taken over by a new station in the city. You can visit this railway station and see a museum which will show you some amazing exhibits such as old steam trains and fire engines which will show you a true reflection of the history and culture of this part of the world. It can be a great little visit for a quiet afternoon before you head off for a bit to eat in the city and it will be a peaceful place to come after shopping in the city center.

Hutong


If you love food, which let’s face it, we all do… the best place you can visit during your stay in Kuala Lumpur to sample the best they have to offer has to be Hutong. For a large good hall which gives you an expansive range of delicacies ranging from breakfast to lunch to dessert, this is the ideal place to spend a lazy day and fill your face with amazing foods. Malaysian food is a fusion of many different styles of food and takes inspiration from its own foods, Indian food, and Chinese food too so it creates a wonderful fusion of flavor and life.

Sky Box Of Menara KL Tower

The Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower Is a wonderful place to visit during your stay in Kuala Lumpur because you will be able to enjoy a view of the entire skyline with your family after a long week exploring. This tower stands at an impressive 336 meters and you will be able to enjoy a full panoramic view of the city skyline and beyond from up here. Make sure you bring your camera to make the most of the view and be sure that you stay for a while to really appreciate the beauty of the landscape around you. It can be the ideal way to finish your trip in Kuala Lumpur and leave feeling appreciative of the place.
