Fun in London – What Can You Do on a Visit?

Fun in London – What Can You Do on a Visit?

Disclosure – this is a collaborative post.

I have had a few trips to London over the past 12 months and although I sometimes struggle with how busy London can get I had a brilliant time on all occasions.

There is always so much to do, it can be quite difficult to choose but we did quite different things on our recent visits.

Summer Trip to London

It was my Mum’s 60th birthday last year and my brother and I decided to take her to London to see one of the many Shows in London. She chose Grease to see and we were pretty excited, as I used to love the film as a child.

We had a little fun as the weekend coincided with some of the train strikes, so my brother drove down as far as he could and we got the tube in the rest of the way.

We headed to Leicester Square and had lunch and then headed over to London’s Dominion Theatre. There are so many places in eat in London and food and a show is a great thing to do! The show was fabulous. I always forget the real magic of a live show; the incredible talent and atmosphere, so we thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I do remember thinking I’m not sure Grease manages to stay on stage in this day and age, as is quite an old fashioned story!

After the show I convinced them to do a bit of shopping; who can resist really and we headed back home.

Winter Trip to London

My eldest was desperate for a Mummy-daughter weekend and I delivered in February this year. We first headed down to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour, which was such fun, before taking the train from Watford to London. We stayed overnight in one of the Hilton Hotels, which was a real treat!

My eldest had never been before and she wanted to do some sightseeing. We saw Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. For her this was amazing, as a complete new experience.

We headed over to hang out in Covent Garden, watched some street performers and ate an amazing burger!

We did a little more shopping and walked all the way back to Marylebone Station! You can do that if you don’t fancy the tube.

There are so many things to do in London and we only did a few of them.

Definitely plan a trip!
