I Miss Shopping

Don’t get me wrong, I love being pregnant. I really hate to moan too much as cliche as it may be, it is a privilege and I do feel really lucky everyday. However, there is one think I am really missing and that is SHOPPING!

More specifically clothes shopping. One of my favourite things is a shopping trip with my Mum. Tea and scones in Druckers to start with, a good shop and then a cheeky glass of wine to ensure I buy something I shouldn’t with my sudden giddiness. Those trips may be on hold for a little while again.

I’m one of those people who buys stuff, tends to get some good wear out of it and has a good spring clean each year. I then go through my clothes and shoes, give some to my friend and give some to the charity shops. Before I had the gremlin I loved browsing through the magazines to see what was coming up for the next season fashions. I never necessarily followed everything to the letter but there were some things I remember loving!

Who remembers when every girl in the entire UK had a gypsy skirt?!

I even managed a couple of the crop tops (prior to pregnancy) and I’m currently loving some of the skirts in the shops at the moment (I can’t wear any of course!).

I do like to try and keep up with fashion a little as it does make me feel a little old before my time if I stop caring or way too Mumsy and this just isn’t me!  The pic below is me at 23 weeks with the gremlin, shopping and still in normal clothes. I love how my hair is done…I never have time now.

Being pregnant really makes things a bit tricky. With the gremlin, we had a hot summer and I lived in these rather horrific long stretchy dresses. They were comfy, cool and covered the bump. The pink monstrosity below is an example!

However, I looked longingly at the crop tops and denim shorts and hankered after a shopping spree for the whole pregnancy. I only bought one maternity dress for a wedding as I was cheap and had a smaller bump.

I’m not an expensive shopper at all. I love the cheaper places, am not into designer shops and love a good sale. House of Fraser currently have a great one running that is worth having a nosey at. I’m hoping to find something I can stretch over the bump. This is always a challenge!

I can tell you one thing. As soon as this piglet is born and I have lost my bump I’ll be hitting those shops!

I don’t get to go shopping very often and I’m not even pregnant! But last week I bought a new dress for the first time in about a year and I loved it! #fartglitter

That is the most perfect bump and I’m sure you will find plenty of lovely things for it #MarvMondays

But being pregnant means that you can go shopping for new clothes every two months and it’s justified! #fartglitter

Oh my how I miss shopping too – and I’m not even pregnant! I’m guilty of ending up on the same Debenhams (sale) website, searching a variety of shades of the same tunic and pairs of Eden Jeggings. I just don’t have the child free time to do it now, but I am a little bit in mourning for it!
Love the very glam photos hun! One stylish pregnant Momma! Xx
    Thanks for sharing with #FartGlitter

I miss shopping too! It’s not quite the same after kids. Now it’s like “what do we need?” And then quick in and out and lunch if everyone is still sane. I used to have a gypsy skirt! I wonder if it’s still at my mums somewhere 😀

Pregnancy definitely suits you! I remember lusting after maxi and midi length skirts when preggers first time around…needless to say as soon as Tigs was born I went a little crazy for them!

Ohh I remember the gypsy skirts! I miss shopping too 🙁 shopping for clothes to fit over a growing bump isn’t always fun..especially when there’s soo many clothes that would look amazing on your regular, non pregnant body. Pregnancy really suits you hun, you look lovely xx #Fartglitter

You look amazing! I know what you mean about wanting to wear stuff you really can’t when you’re pregnant and for some reason, you want to shop even more when there’s really no point! Think of the money you’re saving 🙂

Ah the only shopping I do these days is usually for my daughter. I did buy a skirt the other day as the print is gorgeous but I don’t think I’ll ever wear it :(. #MarvMondays

Oh you and me both! Hitting the shops post pregnancy that is.. I totally get where you are coming from. Just like the first time I was pregnant, I am really missing shopping and being able to wear whatever I want. I hate that my wardrobe is so limited now and am dreading the last stretch, but I cant wait to finally be able to fit into my clothes again in a few months. I have to say though, you are looking pretty great – its a neat little bump so far 🙂 Emily #MarvMondays (Loving the new blog design by the way!) x
