Cheeky Wipes REVIEW – Reusable, Eco-Friendly Wipes | AD

Cheeky Wipes kit

Love the environment? Cheeky Wipes maybe perfect for you and your child. One of the things that I have often felt the most guilty about having kids is the use of wet wipes. We get through so many of the blasted things and they are so useful I have to admit! Not just nappies but faces, tables, high chairs and even, yes the skirting board! I’m sure if you have been watching the news there is talk of banning them due to the impact on the environment. They don’t rot away. I remember my hubby putting them accidentally in the compost bin and two years later they are still there!!! When Cheeky Wipes contacted me to trial their reusable wipes, I was very keen to see what they would be like. I hope this Cheeky Wipes review

I was sent a pack with rainbow zero twist cotton wipes.

the wipes

I was excited to open the boxes and see what I would need to do to use the wipes.

Cheeky Wipes Mucky Box

The bigger box contains everything but this is called the Cheeky Wipes “Mucky box” and is where all your used and dirty wipes will go.

Cheeky wipes mucky tub

Inside is a smaller box; the “fresh” box and this is where you make up your pack of wipes.

How to Use Cheeky Wipes

It’s really straight forward use and set Cheeky Wipes up.

You take your blue, fresh tub and fill it up with water to the top line, which is easy to see. Then you add a drop of essential oil that is provided. For the fresh it is lavender and chamomile oil.

Next you open the wipes and add them in. I did this in two stages and let the water soak them. I also turned them over as instructed. After while I added the second half and let them all soak and get ready for use.

You can keep the wipes for up to 3 days before they will need a wash. This is less in hot days, where every other day is recommended.

In the mucky box there is a mesh bag you can put the used wipes, ready for the wash. You have to fill this 3/4 with water and add some essential oil; this time tea tree and lemon.

You are also provided with some little bags to take wipes out and about; one for fresh and one for used.

Our Thoughts

I find I always feel the most guilty with the wipes we use at the dinner table. Little Piglet is older now and she doesn’t get through that many nappies and if it’s a wee it’s usually one wipe. So with these thoughts in mind, I decided to use the set more for the dinner table and after eating.

I took my first wipe out after breakfast to try.

reusable Cheeky wipe

It was quite wet, so I gave it a little squeeze which was fine. Not sure if I added a little too much water. It smelt amazing! So fresh and natural and was cool and damp, perfect for cleaning a face or a dirty leg!

My eldest is not a fan of having her face washed at the best of times but what I liked with the Cheeky Wipe was you only needed one; not tonnes which I always feel so wasteful of.

Baby being cleaned with a reusable Cheeky wipe

We only used one wipe for the whole clean. I used one for my face after my lunch too and again loved the smell. Made my hands smell amazing. We then just put the dirty wipes in the mesh bag, ready to be washed.

Hubby and I were really impressed. I have to admit I have never thought about using cloth wipes or nappies but this has really made me think about it. Now we have to use less wipes, as the Cheeky Wipes go so far, the 25 in the tub should be enough. Luckily the weather has cooled down and they should last the 3 days.

In the long run using these wipes will save money are more eco-friendly and so natural. There is only water and essential oils on the wipes and you can see that, as you make them!

Price wise you will make your money back in no time as quite honestly, we get through so many wipes! Hubby is always on the Aldi run for more

Overall, I was really impressed with Cheeky Wipes and if you are considering cloth wipes, definitely give them a try!

I am really thinking about using cloth wipes and nappies for this baby! We still use wet wipes for Evie and her hands and faces, I can’t even imagine how much we’ve already spent over the years!

I love cheeky wipes! We used them with number one, and now about to do washable nappies with baby number two. Would be fab to have a set for mucky hands and faces as well as bottoms!!

What a good idea – before wet wipes we did just use a wet flannel in a plastic bag or cotton wool and a bowl of warm water x

It’s just too easy to pick up a wet wipe for each use – these are just as handy and so much better for the environment.

Thank you for introducing me to these. We did use reusable nappies but now 6 years down the line Im still addicted to wet wipes and they really are so bad for the planet. I’m pleased to find a great alternative. Thanks again.

These seem great! I used wet wipes but just didn’t know how bad they were (15 years ago). If I had small children now I would use these. They seem amazing and I will definitely recommend these to my friend with twins. Thank you. I have banned make-up wipes in the old house and we use flannels now or compostable cotton wool pads. It’s the small things that will help our planet. #bloggersbest

These would be great, our first baby is due in July and we’re planning to use cloth nappies so it’s only logical to use cloth wipes as well, I ordered a pack of white cheeky wipes but it would be great to have a full kit with the clean and mucky boxes and this would mean I had enough wipes to keep some at Grandma’s house as well.
