Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without all the tasty, delicious types of dessert and sweets that you can make. I don’t always go for everything but I love my Mum’s sherry trifle and she also makes a mean chocolate log, which my eldest loves! I really wish I liked more if them. I see people ranting and raving about mince pies and Christmas pudding and I don’t like them at all! People laugh at me and think I’m nuts but what can you do eh? I need some Christmas Dessert Ideas and thankfully in the blogger community, there are some fantastic bakers.
To be fair, I’m not always sure I can fit in a good dessert Christmas dinner. Have a look here for some fab Christmas recipes for vegaetables too!
I asked some of my fellow bloggers to share some of their best Christmas dessert ideas and they definitely didn’t fail me!
Christmas Dessert Ideas
1 – Gingerbread House Cookies
I love ginger! My Mum bakes the best cookies where the taste is so strong. I knew this recipes for gingerbread house cookies from Jenny at The Gingerbread House would be amazing and I loved how the kids can decorate them. Such good fun for Christmas.
2 – Slow Cooker Baileys Chocolate Cake
Baileys is is delicious drink Christmas or not and the idea of a cake sounded like heaven.
I like the idea of it being slow cooked and Lucy from Baking Queen 74 has a great way to use up any left over Christmas Baileys.
3 – Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Creams
I think Christmas is the only time we have After 8 Mints after a meal. It’s definitely one of those Christmas traditions so I was keen to share this recipe for Peppermint Creams from Louise at A Strong Coffee.
They look delicious!
4 – Easy Gluten Free Christmas Cake
This recipe is perfect for those with Coeliac Disease or those avoiding gluten by choice. Natalie from Crummy Mummy tried this for her hubby who was following a healthy diet and there are lots of yummy ingredients!

5 – Slow Cooker Fudge
My husband is a bit addicted to fudge so I knew this recipe for a slow-cooked version would float his boat. Louise from Pink Pear Bear shares her tried and tested recipe.
Her kids look like they have a great time getting involved too and again they can decorate it. Great for a present for a teacher perhaps?
6 – Chocolate and Amaretto Chocolate Truffle Torte
I just love all the sounds of the ingredients in this recipe from Filipa at Gourmet Mum and wow, doesn’t it look amazing?
It only has 4 ingredients! Even I could do it.
7 – Chocolate Salted Honeycomb
My step-Dad is a bit of a fan of Crunchies so this recipe would suit him and be a perfect gift. Katherine from Veggie Desserts shares this recipe with us and gives a really good step by step guide with images.
Worth a shot for a different gift!
8 – Healthier Christmas Rocky Road or Tiffin
I love the idea of trying to a bit a little healthier at Christmas! We all do eat such a lot. Mandy from Sneaky Veg has come up with a recipe with a little more fruit in it, with nuts and seeds and would make a alternative!

9 – Almond Rolls
I am a sucker for almonds and marzipan so these caught my eye immediately. Corina from Searching for Spice shared this delicious recipe and they sound like a firm, family favourite.

10 – Easy Joulutorttu (Finnish Jam Tarts)
Jane from Hodge Podge Days has come up with these very impressive looking Finnish Jam Tarts. I always used to love as a kid and they look very tempting! You can also use pre-made puff pastry so a lot easier for a novice like me!!

11 – Boozy Christmas Mug Cake Recipe
Chantelle from Mama Mummy Mum tempted me with this easy-looking mug cake dessert! It looks like such a perfect portion and so festive.
It would make a really different dessert on Christmas Day!
