Get Stuck Into Scrapbooking During Your Newborn Journey

Disclosure – This is a collaborative post

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that we love a good scrapbook. Like any craft, the process of scrapbooking in itself can be satisfying and relaxing. It also provides you with a fantastic chance to capture your memories. Hence why it’s such a great activity to get stuck into when you have a newborn. Nothing captures those precious first months like a scrapbook you’ve put together yourself. It’s a gift you could keep adding to until your child’s eighteenth. Or, you could keep it for yourself to remind you how tiny they once were. Either way; you’re sure to be glad you took the time to get stuck in here.

The question is, how exactly can you find that time? Life with a newborn can be hectic. If you aren’t careful, your scrapbooking plans could go down the drain along with sleep. By the time you’re then able to get around to it, the scrapbook might not seem so relevant, and could fall by the wayside. But, it needn’t be that way. It’s entirely possible to make time for scrapbooking during motherhood, and here’s how.

Make a plan

Us mums love our plans, and with good reason. If we didn’t have these, life would get hectic in no time. When you’re looking after a little person, you need to plan every aspect of your days. That way, you can fit your life around naps, playgroups, and all that other fun stuff. If you want to scrapbook, then, you need to pen it into your diary. Make time for this during the morning nap, or take some stuff along to playgroup with you. Either way, making a set plan to take care of scrapbooking is the best way to make sure you get it done.

Keep your devices connected

It’s also worth noting that you should keep your devices connected. That way, you won’t have to worry about taking an age to upload hundreds of newborn pics. Instead, you’ll be able to rest easy that every photograph you take on your phone is ready to use elsewhere. Your best way to do this is to set up an iCloud photo library, which you can read more about here. This also brings the benefit of meaning you can access snaps from any device. You could even get stuck in on the library computers if you wanted to!

Don’t be afraid to ‘cheat’

Scrapbooking is such big business now that there are plenty of companies who can do the hard stuff for you. Options like Mixbook Photo Co. can even now take care of things like printing and layout for you. Admittedly, this does mean losing the personal aspect which makes scrapbooks so fun. But, this is ideal for mums who are pushed for time. You could even include personal additions at a later date if you wanted to make the whole thing a little more meaningful. At least this way you would have an established base to play with.
