24 Weeks Pregnant – Bump Update

Wow another 4 weeks has passed since I did my last update. That time has flown! Probably as I still feel well and enjoying the second trimester. We had our anomaly scan twice and if you have not seen my gender reveal, here you go! It’s hard to believe I’m now 24 weeks pregnant.

I had my 24 week midwife appointment on Wednesday. All was fine and we heard piglet’s heartbeat again! My wee was fine and so was the blood pressure. I have so many things to do when I get home; blood tests, whooping cough jab, 28 week appointment and my Anti-D jab. Phew!

Symptoms at 24 Weeks Pregnant

I’m not really sure I have many at the moment. Probably starting to feel full quicker now which is a pain if I want to eat a little more. Little and often I guess. I also need to wee A LOT and it can be quite painful when I need to. I think that’s about it.

Food and Cravings

The scoffing has really died down now and I am really trying to think about what I am eating. I used to have a bit of muesli and nuts before bed but have stopped that as feel it was habit rather than hunger. I’m still enjoying everything I eat and look forward to every single meal and snack!

Exercise

All still the same which is fab! I am feeling bigger now and think the cardio side may start to slow a bit. I can still jog around in a circuits class and have adapted burpees and press ups. Body Pump is still fine with reduced weights and I am still managing free weights and the machines. It is weird feeling the baby move more when exercising and I thought I was getting a few Braxtons once but none really since. I’m aiming to just keep on going!!

My Body

I do feel big now. at 24 weeks pregnant. My bump, boobs, thighs and bum have expanded. I think it was because I was 3kg lighter than my pre-gremlin weight but my clever body (and all the food) has put me back where I should be for this stage of pregnancy. Therefore, I have gained more weight second time around. I’m really liking it! It is great to have my boobs and thighs back. I am not in maternity smocks yet at work but think I will live in stretchy dresses on our upcoming holiday!

24 weeks pregnant bump

The Piglet is wriggling like a trooper now. Some days it is quieter but others all the time. If I get up for a wee in the night I get a few kicks. It is crazy to think she is getting so big now. I have had a few panics when been really busy and not felt her for ages but it’s not long before I can get her going. Putting my phone on my bump and playing music helps!!

My Feelings at 24 Weeks Pregnant

So far, so good. I feel fine. Some days a bit grumpy but nothing too bad. I’m not an emotional girly in pregnancy so no crying as such. I’ve not even thought too much about labour yet but sure I will as the time comes. I am looking forward to finishing work but a little nervy about keeping the gremlin busy. If I am still well, I think I will make some nice plans for us both.

The Gremlin

The gremlin seems the same too. She talks about her baby sister a lot and likes to touch my bump. She doesn’t like me or Daddy to feel the kicks sometimes though and I find this very interesting. She will move our hands and pull my top down. Trying not to read much into that one!! Otherwise, life chugs along normally for her. I have explained a bit more about how the baby comes out and she could tell my obstetrician school friend “Mummy has to push” and it “comes out of her twinkle”. She also enjoyed sticking her dolls up my top and pretending to do a C section. I figure if anything happens at home when she’s around I want her to understand and not be too phased.

All in all, not too bad really. I have another 4 weeks and hit the third trimester! Wow! I’m reckoning I may start to feel a bit more tired and achy but I’ll take each days as it comes for now.

See you at 28 weeks 🙂

So glad to hear that all is progressing well and lovely to see that gorgeous bump growing. Piglet sounds nice and active – those kicks were the one thing I missed after giving birth as they are just magical. Love the gremlin being able to describe birth – I think it is good for children to understand things so they’re less likely to be fazed by them. I had Sophie at home and Jessica was just in the room next door popping in every now and then to say hello and she wasn’t bothered at all at seeing me in labour. Can’t believe the next update will be a third trimester one though! Hope all continues to go well x

Looking fabulous yummy mummy, I’m with Louise, it’s so lovely to see your gorgeous bump growing. Ahh I miss the little kicks, its your little bonding time before they are welcomed into the world. Its funny you always feel pregnant FOREVER however when you watch other people, it develops so quick. Heres to the third trimester :o) x Renee @Peonieandme #BestAndWorst (a little late to the party) x
