My kid’s love slides. They also love testing out new slides! I always think one makes such a good addition to the garden. It is something all little ones will spend hours on. I remember as a kid I used to make dens under mine, lie on it, as well as of course slide down and climb up it! We were kindly offered to review the Smoby KS Kids Slide and they were thrilled. Afterwards we are hoping to gift to my brother in law and his family, as they have a new little one who will love it.
We love to get the kids in the garden and one of my favourite things is letting them play outside for a bit after tea when the weather is good. I love the lighter, longer evenings and it’s lovely to watch them play for a bit longer before bed.
Playing on the slide is one of their favourite things to do too!
More About the Smoby KS Kids Slide
The Smoby KS slide is recommended for children aged 2-5, so I knew my little man would be my key slide-tester. It retails at £69.99 and can be found in Smyth’s Toys.
The Smoby KS Slide has a sturdy frame, and handrails and steps that are designed so that your child does not lose their grip or slip. The gradient flattens at the bottom, which means kids slide off smoothly. The blow moulded plastic design means there are no sharp corners or edges.
The slide has a hose attachment so that on hot summer days you can turn it into a water slide to delight your children yet further. Because it is made from plastics, you can even put the end of the slide into a paddling pool to create a flume effect as they reach the bottom.
The slide is easy to assemble and dismantle for compact storage and is made from durable PVC. This has been treated to protect it from sunlight so that the colours remain bright. If the sun isn’t out, it is light enough that it can easily be moved to become an indoor slide.
Building the KS Kids Slide
This was actually really easy and my 7 year old helped my husband out. It didn’t take them long at all. It was simply a case of slotting the pieces together! The instructions are clear and concise.
This is always a bonus, as I worry sometimes about how long a product will take to assemble and will I run into any problems.
Smoby KS Slide as a Flume
I really liked the idea of using the slide as a water flume in warmer weather and that you can put the end into a paddling pool to slide into. There is a a little area to attach the hose to at the top of the slide.
We simply just attached our hose to the underneath of the slide and were ready to go.
What we found though is you only need to turn the hose up a really small amount to get a trickle down the slide like a flume. If you turn the hose up a lot, the water sprays really far! You can see from the pictures. My kids loved this and it was great fun! So bear in mind if you are using the hose and water feature aspect of the Smoby KS Slide.
Our Thoughts
This slide is perfect for the age range suggested which is 2-5 years. My middle daughter is almost 5 and you could see, she could still enjoy it but was getting a little tall.
It was just right for my 2 year old little man! He loved it. He could safely and easily climb up using the supportive handles, which are big and sturdy. Perfect for little hands. He loved sliding down and as the gradient flattens off at the bottom, it means he doesn’t fall off onto the grass, which he can do with bigger slides.
He was pretty happy!
The slide is bright, colourful and sturdy. It is also quite light. I could easily move it around the garden when we were planning a BBQ and needed more space. I like the way it is UV resistant and should keep it’s colour. The slide just looked and felt of high quality and safe! All you want when children will be using it.
It was easy to assemble and we had no issues.
The flume function is great fun. You can either use it like a traditional water slide or let the water really spray. It was simple to get working and great fun. On a hot day, kids will love this!
Overall the Smoby KS Kids Slide is perfect as a first slide for your toddlers. It will last you a few years, is safe and sturdy and great for the hot, summer months.

I am loving this slide. It looks really solid and great fun especially with the bright colours and the fact that you can use the slide as a flume.
The Smoby slide looks like great fun. We got so many years of use from our slide, the kids have now outgrown it, but it lasted for years.
Looks easy to assemble and I love that it has a water spray feature, as this adds so much more fun to the slide for sure x
