It’s always lovely to be able to give a personalised gift at a special time like Father’s Day. I often find it really hard to chose for my husband and the girls just end up wanting to give him chocolate! Don’t get me wrong he loves chocolate but I always like to give him something a little more special too. This is where a gift from Historic Newspapers would be perfect and really original.
My husband is always reading and is quite interested in history, so I knew Historic Newspapers would be a great idea for a Father’s Day gift this year.
Historic Newspapers – What do They Offer?
Historic newspapers hold the world’s largest archive of over 3 million old newspapers dating back over 100 years. They are the perfect gift to commemorate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasions. The archive is created mainly from UK newspapers. They house both national and regional titles, including Sunday papers free of any extra charges that usually apply to Sunday editions. The Sunday papers quite often used to be my favourite too!
Birthday newspapers or papers from important dates in an individual’s life are really popular, alongside football books. Historic Newspaper also offer some amazing gifts like newspaper gift sets (which come with high quality alcoholic drinks as an option), historical books and sports books.
Definitely worth having a browse, as Father’s Day is approaching. Likely you will find something for that special person who loves history.
Newspaper Gift Sets
We were kindly offered one of the Newspaper Gift Sets to review.
Within their vast newspaper archive, Historic Newspapers have local papers from all over Britain as well as nationals, and have daily, evening and Sunday papers dating back to as far as the start of the 20th century. These fascinating papers are then combine with a number of gift options including high quality alcoholic drinks to create perfect presents.
I knew my husband would like a tipple, so I chose for him Personalised Red Wine with Newspaper gift set. There are so many options to chose from though, from whiskey, champagne, vodka and brandy. There are also quiz boxes and just the paper, if your recipient isn’t keen on alcohol.
Personalising Your Newspaper Gift Set
It was really easy to set up the personalisation. You choose your date. I decided to go with my husband’s birthday, even though it was going to be for Father’s Day.
You then get the newspaper options that as available. I chose the Radio Times for my hubby as he always talked about reading it as a kid. It was something I used to like doing too!
Then you can add a personalised name, message and the special date! Prices for this product start at £49.99, depending on what newspaper you chose.
That was it!
Our Thoughts
The product arrived in a lovely presentation box. It was a black box with “Just for You” printed on the front.
You opened this to reveal the gift set!
As you can see the red wine was personalised with my hubby’s name and a message!
We also had a copy of the Radio Times too from 1981. It looks so old now! This was rolled up in the presentation box, next to the wine.
You also get a certificate of authenticity to prove this is a genuine paper and not a copy.
I thought the gift was lovely and I know my husband will love. Perfect for him to sit back with a glass of red wine and have a browse through a very old copy of the Radio Times. It’s great that it is a genuine version too and not a copy! You can tell by the feel of the paper though. Real nostalgia!
The presentation of the gift was lovely and the bottle of wine can be washed and kept in the box if wanted.
Price-wise it isn’t the cheapest gift but of course you are getting a high quality alcoholic drink if you chose that option and the paper of course is genuine!
Overall the Newspaper Gift Set from Historical Newspapers is a lovely and original gift for a history lover. It’s personal and for anyone who enjoys a tipple too, makes a great combination!
